Trump Tells Ilhan Omar to Go Back to Africa: “You Can’t Leave Fast Enough”

Donald Trump let loose on Twitter on Sunday as he called out Ilhan Omar and three other freshman Democratic congresswomen who have regularly spoken out against him, going so far as to tell them to go back to “their countries.”

“So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run,” Trump tweeted, according to Fox News. “Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done.”

“These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough,” Trump continued. “I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!”

Omar, who is from Somalia, fired back at Trump on Twitter by accusing him of being racist.

“Mr. President, As Members of Congress, the only country we swear an oath to is the United States. Which is why we are fighting to protect it from the worst, most corrupt and inept president we have ever seen,” Omar tweeted. “You are stoking white nationalism bc you are angry that people like us are serving in Congress and fighting against your hate-filled agenda.”

She then quoted Robert F. Kennedy in saying, “America’s answer to the intolerant man is diversity, the very diversity which our heritage of religious freedom has inspired.”

This comes after Omar has been in hot water over the past few weeks, as evidence surfaced suggesting that she married her own brother to skirt immigration laws when she moved to the United States. She has also found herself being accused of fraud and misusing campaign funds.
