Ilhan Omar came unglued this week at a congressional panel when she came face to face with a Christian pastor who was open about pulling herself out of poverty through hard work.

Latasha Harrison Fields is a pastor, wife, and mother from Alabama who decided not to abort her child when she became pregnant at 17. Instead, she chose to pull herself and her baby out of poverty through hard work, and though her story should have been inspiring, hearing it somehow caused Omar to lose her temper.

Fields testimony before the hearing, which was entitled “Poverty in America: Economic Realities of Struggling Families,” was all about how she pulled herself up by her bootstraps instead of relying on the government to do it for her. Though Planned Parenthood encouraged her to abort her baby, she decided to go through with her pregnancy and went right to work. Since then, she has graduated from college with a 4.0 GPA, gotten married, and even owns her own home.

While testifying, Fields said that Democrats are not really out to help the black community, and instead want to keep minorities in poverty to keep their votes.

“I’m talking about families who pass Section 8 and government aid down like it’s an inheritance,” Fields said.

That’s when Omar lost it.

“The other thing that frustrates me,” Omar said as she stared down Fields. “People who have gotten the straps for their bootstraps. Who sit and talk about how we shouldn’t do anything for the next person!”

Omar went on to say that the Constitution mandates “prosperity for every person” in America.

“We need to remove the barriers so all of us can have the prosperity that is guaranteed to us in our Constitution,” Omar alleged. “Radical love means we love everyone in our community so we make sure they get the basic rights as humans. And that’s the godly thing to do.”

“We want to talk about faith? We can’t pray our problems away,” Omar said, fuming with anger. “You can’t pray for your children to be fed. You cannot pray for your medical bills to disappear. You cannot pray for the mold to stop poisoning your children in the classrooms.”

Of course, Omar failed to address any of Fields’ points during her ridiculous rant.

It didn’t take long for this to backfire on Omar, as she has since gotten serious backlash on social media.

Omar was actually only angry because Fields exposed Socialism as the sham that it is in front of the entire world. Omar and her fellow Democrats don’t want to encourage minorities to work hard. Instead, they just want them to depend on the government so that they will be easy votes going forward.
