BREAKING NEWS: The Trump Administration is reportedly moving forward with plans to apprehend and deport thousands of illegal immigrants who ignored court orders to leave the United States.
According to the Daily Caller, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said the massive raids will be launched in major cities across the nation and target some 2,000 illegals. The targeted individuals are people who have been court ordered to leave, but ignored those orders and remained in the US. The cities that are targeted include Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Miami, and Houston.
Last month the president announced plans to deport “millions” of illegals, but then backtracked. He said he would postpone his plans in order to give House Democrats time to work with him on an immigration deal to help solve the crisis at the US-Mexico border. Not surprisingly, however, the Democrats have refused to come to the negotiation table and continue to paint the administration as being inhumane to illegals in holding centers.
Objective reporting for the educated American.
The Democratic Party has moved to the far left on the issue of immigration. During the latest Democratic debate, all candidates raised their hands when asked if they would support giving taxpayer-subsidized full health coverage to illegals; in addition, the majority of candidates raised their hand when asked if they would support decriminalizing illegal border crossings.
On July 5, Trump said of the upcoming raids, “These are people where we have their papers, we’ve gone through the court system. [The deportations will] be starting fairly soon, but I don’t call them raids. We’re removing people that have come — all of these people over the years — that have come in illegally. We are removing them and bringing them back into their country.”
Ken Cuccinelli, the newly-appointed acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, said during an interview on CBS this weekend, “They’re ready to just perform their mission, which is to go and find and detain and then deport the approximately one million people who have final removal orders.”
The ICE raids will last several days and may include some “collateral” deportations–the removal of illegals who were not original targets of the raids, but also ignored court orders to leave the country and happened to be at the scene. Family units that are apprehended will be taken to humane detention centers–some will even be put up in taxpayer-funded hotel rooms.
