CNN host Don Lemon has found himself in hot water this week after he was accused of a sexually charged assault in New York City.

Fox News reported that Dustin Hice of Florida just filed a civil lawsuit against Lemon claiming that the assault occurred in July of 2018, when he was living in the Hamptons and working at The Old Stove Pub in Sagaponack. Hice alleged that after closing up one night, he joined his colleagues at Murf’s Backstreet Tavern, in Sag Harbor, where they bumped into Lemon. Recognizing him from television, Hice said that he offered to buy Lemon a drink “lemon drop,” and the host initially refused the offer. Later, however, Hice said that Lemon walked up to him outside the bar.

“[Lemon] put his hand down the front of his own shorts, and vigorously rubbed his genitalia, removed his hand and shoved his index and middle fingers into Plaintiff’s mustache and under Plaintiff’s nose,” the lawsuit stated.

Lemon then allegedly asked crude questions about Hice’s sexual preferences, leaving him “shocked and humiliated.”

“I absolutely wasn’t hitting on him whatsoever,’’ Hice said of Lemon, according to the New York Post. “I’m a heterosexual male.”

CNN immediately responded to the lawsuit by releasing a statement defending Lemon.

“The plaintiff in this lawsuit has previously displayed a pattern of contempt for CNN on his social media accounts,” a CNN spokesperson said. “This claim follows his unsuccessful threats and demands for an exorbitant amount of money from Don Lemon. Don categorically denies these claims and this matter does not merit any further comment at this time.”

Hice said that he was stunned that Lemon’s behavior in real life was such a contrast to the #MeToo advocate he appears to be on television.

“When the cameras are turned off, however, Mr. Lemon’s actions are in stark and disturbing contrast to the public persona he attempts to convey,” the suit stated.

Hice has since denied accusations that he has a vendetta against CNN, saying, “I have never ever ranted about anyone, especially a news station. … I am a private, religious man.’’

“Just because my client is a straight man doesn’t make this assault any more acceptable than if he were a woman,” added Hice’s lawyer. “This lawsuit is sending a message loud and clear — if you are in a position of power, you cannot get away with sexual assault. No matter what the circumstances are.”
