Fox News Faces Pressure to Fire Laura Ingraham After Host Makes ‘Offensive’ Comments

Laura Ingraham is one of Fox News’ most popular personalities, hosting The Ingraham Angle in the 10pm ET primetime time slot. Ingraham has found herself in hot water with liberals and advertisers in the past, and now she’s found herself in the hot seat once again.

The host caused outraged when she made critical comments of a Greta Thunberg, a 16-year-old climate activist with autism. Thunberg made news when she told delegates at the United Nations climate summit, “If you choose to fail us, I say we will never forgive you.”

On her show Monday night, Ingraham played part of Thunberg’s speech and asked, “Anyone else find that chilling?” Next, Ingraham played some footage from the 1984 movie “Children of the Corn,” a horror film based on the Stephen King novel about a Nebraska community in which a creature manipulates the town’s children into murdering adults.

Ingraham said, “I can’t wait for Stephen King’s sequel, ‘Children of the Climate.’ Now, the left — if they ever get in power — will simply use the excuse of climate change to reward their friends.”

Ingraham has come under fire for her comments–including from her own brother, Curtis Ingraham. He wrote on Twitter, “Clearly my sister’s paycheck is more important than the world her three adopted kids will inherit. I can no longer apologize for a sibling who I no longer recognize. I can and will continue to call out the monstrous behavior and the bully commentary born out of anger.”

Many figures on the left are calling for Ingraham to be fired.

The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles came under fire earlier in the day for comments he made on Fox News. Knowles said, “If it were about science, it would be led by scientists rather than by politicians and a mentally-ill Swedish child who is being exploited by her parents and by the international left. What you’re seeing here is a political movement and a religious movement. And it’s fulfilling religious and political goals of the left, but it isn’t doing very much for science.”
