There aren’t many figures in Hollywood brave enough to speak out against the industry’s flagrant leftism. But actress Kirstie Alley recently proved she is the exception to the rule, speaking out to hammer Hollywood left-wingers and their disdain for Donald Trump supporters.
On Twitter, Alley went so far as to compare their refusal to work with conservatives to refusing to work with gay individuals. This, the Cheers actress argued, is a flagrant form of hypocrisy.

She wrote, “I refuse to be part of the Hollywood asshats who can’t see that ‘NOT working with Republicans’ is as stupid and NASTY as ‘REFUSING to do business with gay people.’ STOP ACTING above the FRAY ya damn hypocrites…WE are the same species! let’s help each OTHER ya damn yahoos.”

68-year-old Alley’s comments come after the co-stars of the hit show Will & Grace, Debra Messing and Eric McCormack, demanded that the names of individuals attending a Trump fundraiser next month be made public.
In the past Alley has referred to herself as a Republican voters–although in the 2008 election, she claims to have voted for Barack Obama. In 2016, she formally endorsed [3] Donald Trump, arguing that he was “waking the country up.” She said at the time, “Donald Trump, whether you like him or you don’t like him, is waking this country up. If you hate him, you’re going to talk about how much you hate him. If you love him, you’re going to talk about how much you love him.”
Since her most recent tweet on September 7, Alley has received significant blowback from angry left-wingers on Twitter. She attempted to clarify her comments–arguing that she is far more interested in human rights causes than she is in partisan politics. She said in a follow-up tweet, “People recently think I’m some kind of devout Republican, which I’m not…neither am I a devout Democrat. The only thing you could accurately accuse me of would be being a devout human rights advocate … that’s the extent of it.”
