Trump Lets Loose On ‘Shifty Adam Schiff’ – Accuses Him Of Committing Crimes In ‘Impeachment Hoax’

President Donald Trump went off on House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on Twitter late Monday night, going so far as to accuse the Democrat of committing crimes in his quest to impeach him.

“The only crimes in the Impeachment Hoax were committed by Shifty Adam Schiff, when he totally made up my phone conversation with the Ukrainian President and read it to Congress, together with numerous others on Shifty’s side,” Trump wrote, according to The Hill [1]. “Schiff should be Impeached, and worse!”

This wasn’t the first time Trump attacked Schiff that day. Earlier in the evening, he had gone off on the Democrat in another rant.

Sign Petition: Remove Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee  [3]

“Can you believe that Shifty Adam Schiff, the biggest leaker in D.C., and a corrupt politician, is upset that we didn’t inform him before we raided and killed the #1 terrorist in the WORLD!? Wouldn’t be surprised if the Do Nothing Democrats Impeach me over that! DRAIN THE SWAMP!!” Trump tweeted.

Trump has frequent back and forth with Schiff and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who are leading the impeachment charge against him. The impeachment inquiry is based on claims that Trump had pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to look into 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter’s business dealings in the nation.

Schiff himself came under fire for paraphrasing parts of the transcript of the Trump-Zelensky call, falsely saying that Trump told the foreign leader to “make up dirt on my political opponent.” Schiff has since defended his comments by claiming they were meant to be a parody.

“My summary of the president’s call was meant to be, at least part, in parody. The fact that that’s not clear is a separate problem in and of itself,” Schiff said last month. “Of course, the president never said, ‘If you don’t understand me I’m going to say it seven more times,’ my point is, that’s the message that the Ukraine president was receiving in not so many words.”
