Why are people stocking up on hand sanitizer and toilet paper? I don’t get it. If people just bought a normal amount, these items would always be available, even if the virus situation gets much worse.
The problem is that people are HOARDING unnecessarily and I don’t know why.
I understand why people will want to have enough water on hand before and after a hurricane or other destructive event for cooking, bathing, and drinking but COVID-19 is not going to damage water utilities or cut the electricity.
Amazon’s toilet paper and water shortages have been affected as well as your local markets and big-box retailers. The company released a statement over the weekend that it, too, is out of stock on many items, “especially in household staples categories,” and is working “around the clock” and bringing on “additional capacity” to deliver orders.
“We’re also working to ensure that no one artificially raises prices on basic-need products during this pandemic and have blocked or removed tens of thousands of items, in line with our long-standing policy. We actively monitor our store and remove offers that violate our policy.”
The warehouse worker in the video below thought it funny that so many people were rushing to purchase toilet paper because there’s so much left to ship to stores.
