Texas land commissioner sends brutal message to protesters wanting to destroy the Alamo

OPINION: The great state of Texas just sent a brutal warning to protesters who are hoping to destroy the Alamo, one of the most famous historical sites in the state.

Over the past few weeks, efforts to remove Confederate monuments and statues of figures like Christopher Columbus have gained traction all over the nation. Now, protesters have reportedly set their sites on the Alamo, but Texas is not having any of it.

Texas land commissioner George P. Bush, son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, fired back at the protesters with a blistering statement, saying, “The Alamo is the Shrine of Texas Liberty. And it will be defended.”

He went on to say that law enforcement has been preemptively deployed to The Alamo to defend it from any riots that may pop up.

“My office is closely watching the social media posts and rumors from protesters who are threatening to come to The Alamo. Rest assured, we have already deployed, for several weeks and continue to do so, the Alamo Rangers in partnership with [San Antonio Police Department, The Department of Public Safety and The National Guard to protect this sacred site,” Bush said. “My message to the protesters is simple: Don’t mess with The Alamo.”

To drive this message home, Bush posted a photo of dozens of law enforcement personnel guarding The Alamo.

Much of America may have descended into chaos, but it’s nice to see that the great people of Texas are not about to let rioters destroy their most treasured historical sites. Leftists will want to think twice before they mess with the Alamo, because Texans will not let it go down without a fight!
