That tweet didn’t really age too well, given that her city was turned into one big looting and riot-fest last night. Mayor Lightfoot, who has spent more time picking Twitter fights with Trump and his administration, has completely ignored her city.
Crime is soaring, and now BLM and Antifa agitators are using another police-involved shooting to stir up riots.
About 100 people were arrested in Chicago and 13 police officers were injured during a night of looting and vandalism — hours after cops shot a young man who had fired at them, according to reports.
The mayhem began about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, when cops responded to reports of a man with a gun in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side and located a person who fit the description near Moran Park, the Chicago Tribune reported.
While running away from police, the suspect turned around and fired at them. The officers returned fire, wounding the gunman, who was transported to University of Chicago Hospital in unknown condition, according to the newspaper.
The New York Post goes on to say that some “people” were spreading lies to the mob gathered on the street, claiming police shot an innocent child.
The city was turned into a chaotic mess, with looters destroying the “Miracle Mile,” and stealing everything in sight.
The typical reaction to any officer-involved shootings nowadays.
