Meghan Markle’s Half Sister Reveals Evidence Duchess May Have Lied In Interview With Oprah

Days after Meghan Markle sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a tell-all interview, her estranged half sister Samantha has come forward with evidence that some of the things the duchess said in the special may not be accurate.

On Monday morning, Oprah released some additional clips from the interview that had not been included in Sunday night’s special. In one of the clips, Meghan talked about her relationship with Samantha, who has written a tell-all book about the wife of Prince Harry.

“I think it would be very hard to tell all when you don’t know me,” Meghan told Oprah, later adding, “The last time I saw her must have been at least 18 or 19 years ago. And before that, 10 years before that.”

In an interview with Inside Edition, Samantha specifically denied some of the claims made by Meghan, and she brought some proof with her to back up her claims.

“I don’t know how she can say I don’t know her and she was an only child,” Samantha said. “We’ve got photographs over a lifespan of us together so how can she not know me?”

Samantha proceeded to show photos of herself and Meghan over the course of many years. One of the images depicted the two half sisters together at Samantha’s college graduation in 2008, refuting Meghan’s claim that they hadn’t seen each other in nearly twenty years.

At another point in her interview with Oprah, Meghan claimed that Samantha only changed her name back to Markle when she was in her 50s after news of her dating Prince Harry broke.

However, Samantha brought proof that she had changed her name back to Markle long before that. She showed off a petition for name change that was dated in 1997, as well as her college diploma, which clearly states that her last name was Markle.

“I was a Markle before she was,” Samantha said. “I thought that was kind of weird that she’d say I only changed my name back when she met Harry. Markle’s always been my name.”

Samantha concluded by discussing Meghan’s claims that she had suicidal thoughts during her time in the royal family, saying that she has “no sympathy” for her half sister.

“Depression is not an excuse for treating people like dishrags and disposing of them,” Samantha said, seemingly referring to the fact that Meghan is estranged from both her and their father, Thomas Markle.
