George P. Bush Voices Support For Ousting Of Liz Cheney

George P. Bush, son of the failed presidential candidate and Republican Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, spoke out on Thursday to express his support for Republicans removing Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) from her conference chair responsibilities the day before.

“Republicans deserve leadership that represents the views of their constituents, not their own personal vendettas,” Bush wrote on Twitter. “We need leaders in Congress that stand up for conservative Republican ideology, and Liz Cheney is not that leader.”

Bush, who is currently the Texas Land Commissioner, added that Cheney should have been less focused on former President Donald Trump and more concerned with President Joe Biden and what his administration is doing.

“So instead of training fire on the President, she really should have been firing on Biden and that agenda…that’s what you want out of your leadership, & unfortunately…she didn’t rise to the challenge,” Bush added.

This statement was particularly surprising given the fact that Bush is the nephew of former President George W. Bush, who worked alongside Cheney’s father, former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Cheney was one of the Republicans who voted in favor of impeaching Trump, who was quick to celebrate after she was ousted.

“Liz Cheney is a bitter, horrible human being,” Trump said in a statement, according to Yahoo News. “She has no personality or anything good having to do with politics or our country. She is a talking point for Democrats, whether that means the border, the gas lines, inflation, or destroying our economy.”

“She is a warmonger whose family stupidly pushed us into the never-ending Middle East Disaster, draining our wealth and depleting our great military, the worst decision in our country’s history,” Trump concluded. “I look forward to soon watching her as a paid contributor on CNN or MSDNC!”

Trump had urged Republicans to remove Cheney earlier in the day.

“The Republicans in the House of Representatives have a great opportunity today to rid themselves of a poor leader, a major Democrat talking point, a warmonger, and a person with absolutely no personality or heart,” Trump said.

“As a representative of the Great State of Wyoming, Liz Cheney is bad for our Country and bad for herself. Almost everyone in the Republican Party, including 90% of Wyoming, looks forward to her ouster—and that includes me!” he added.
