Democrat Mega-Donor Ed Buck Found Guilty In Deadly Drugs-For-Sex Cases – Facing At Least 20 Years In Prison

Ed Buck, who was a prominent Democrat mega-donor for years, was found guilty on Tuesday of injecting men with methamphetamine in exchange for sex, causing two deaths.

Buck, 66, was found guilty of two counts of meth distribution resulting in death as well as three other charges, according to The New York Post. Buck will be facing a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison at his sentencing, meaning he could easily spend the rest of his life behind bars. He had given over $500,000 to Democrat politicians, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, since 2000.

Buck was found guilty exactly four years after 26-year-old Gemmel Moore was found dead of a drug overdose in the Democrat donor’s West Hollywood apartment. Buck had flown Moore to California from Texas to “party and play” with him.

“The party is the drugs, the play is the sex,” Assistant US Attorney Chelsea Norell explained to the jury in her opening statement. “If they didn’t party, he wasn’t interested.”

Though Moore’s family pushed for Buck’s arrest, arguing that his race and powerful connections were the only thing stopping him from being taken into custody, he remained a free man. Two years after Moore’s death, 55-year-old Timothy Dean died of a drug overdose in Buck’s apartment as well.

Before Buck was arrested back in September, a third man named Dane Brown overdosed twice in the same apartment, and was only saved because of medical intervention. Court documents show that Brown said afterwards that Buck injected him with meth nearly daily for five weeks, and that the Democrat donor refused to call 911 after the second overdose. Brown was left with no choice but to call for help at a nearby gas station.

“I didn’t think I was going to believed,” Brown said on Tuesday after the verdict came in. “Walking out of that house, I didn’t know what was going to happen next.”

Christopher Darden, who was one of the prosecutors of the O.J. Simpson case, led Buck’s defense team, arguing that the Democrat mega-donor “did nothing to cause the death of any person.” The lawyer claimed that neither Moore nor Dean died from methamphetamine overdoses, and that they went to Buck’s apartment of their own volition.

Darden also claimed that the victims were “manipulative people” who took advantage of Buck’s generosity to get money and drugs and who had “every reason to exaggerate their experiences.”

On top of his other convictions, Buck was found guilty of four counts of meth distribution, one count of keeping a drug den and two more counts of enticement to cross state lines for prostitution.

“Ed Buck will never harm anyone else, and I thank God for that,” said one of Dean’s sisters.
