Laurence Tureaud, famously known as Mr. T, recently took to Twitter to proclaim [1] that Christ has been taken “out of Christmas”, alluding to how Christmas seems to be getting further and further disassociated with the meaning behind the day with respect to how it is observed and celebrated.
The 69-year-old actor became a household name not long after his appearance in Rocky III in 1982, which also happened to be the film where his iconic line of “I pity the fool” first breathed life. From his successful run on The A-Team, to professional wrestling, to other films and tv commercial appearances – Mr. T also happens to be well-grounded in his Christian faith.
Back in 2005, following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Mr. T – who was also famously known for adorning his collection of gold chains and rings – decided to ditch the gold [2] out of respect for those who lost everything in the storms.
“As a Christian, when I saw other people lose their lives and their land and property…I felt that it would be a sin before God for me to continue wearing my gold. I felt it would be unnecessary and disrespectful to the people who lost everything, so I stopped wearing my gold.”
Making occasional appearances on outlets such as the Trinity Bible Network, Mr. T has spoken at length about his faith [3] as well.
This sets the stage for his observations on Christmas that he shared on Twitter on December 24th, sharing two tweets about what he’d noticed during a Christmas parade.

Mr. T’s follow-up expanded upon his mentioning of not seeing any depictions of Jesus during the parade, adding that it is further evidence that the true meaning of Christmas is being lost.
“I can’t find no ‘Nativity Scene’, You know, with baby Jesus in the Manger. Last but not least, They have taken Christ out of ‘Christmas!’ I am sorry, but Jesus’ Birthday is not a Happy Holiday… it is the Most Holy Day!”

It’s safe to say that Mr. T likely pities the fool who doesn’t know the true meaning behind Christmas.
