Trump Fires Back At Twitter After Marjorie Taylor Greene Is ‘Permanently’ Suspended

Former President Donald Trump is firing back after Twitter “permanently” suspended Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). He also lashed out at Facebook, which suspended the conservative congresswoman for 24 hours.

“Twitter is a disgrace to democracy. They shouldn’t be allowed to do business in this Country,” Trump said, according to Daily Mail. [1] “Marjorie Taylor Greene has a huge constituency of honest, patriotic, hard-working people. They don’t deserve what’s happened to them on places like low-life Twitter and Facebook.”

“Everybody should drop off of Twitter and Facebook,” he added. “They’re boring, have only a Radical Left point of view, and are hated by everyone. They are a disgrace to our Nation. Keep fighting, Marjorie!”

Trump knows a thing or two about being censored by social media, as his own accounts were suspended by Twitter and Facebook last year following the Capitol riot that took place on January 6.

As for Greene, she isn’t taking her social media suspension laying down either.

“Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth. That’s fine, I’ll show America we don’t need them and it’s time to defeat our enemies,” she said on Sunday, adding that she was suspended for citing numbers from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.

Twitter has stood by suspending Greene, claiming that it did so because she was spreading “COVID-19 misinformation.”

“We permanently suspended the account … for repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy,” Twitter said in a statement obtained by The New York Post [2]. “We’ve been clear that, per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy.”

Greene later sounded off on Facebook when it issued her 24 hour suspension.

“Facebook has joined Twitter in censoring me,” she said. “This is beyond censorship of speech. I’m an elected Member of Congress representing over 700,000 US tax paying citizens and I represent their voices, values, defend their freedoms, and protect the Constitution.”

“Who appointed Twitter and Facebook to be the authorities of information and misinformation?” Greene asked. “When Big Tech decides what political speech of elected members is accepted and what’s not then they are working against our government and against the interest of our people.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) defended Greene, accusing Big Tech of trying to silence conservative voices.

“Their recent decisions to silence Americans — including a sitting member of Congress and renowned physicians — who share views different from the political and media elite have real world costs,” McCarthy said. “In fact, as we get more information on the virus it is clear many of the views once demonized by technology companies and the political elite are turning out to be true.”

“The doctrines of lockdowns, school closures, and the threat of covid-19 illness according to age groups and previous infection are currently being reversed,” he added. “On the other end of the spectrum, Americans on the political left, including popular cable news hosts, members of Congress, and even the Vice President, have themselves made public comments that are now universally understood to be false. Yet, they face no repercussions from the gatekeepers of America’s town square.”

No wonder millions of conservative Americans have had enough of Big Tech.
