The wave of disinformation circling the 2020 election, the war in Ukraine, COVID-19, and even Hunter Biden appears to have driven the Biden administration to create the Disinformation Governance Board. Hoping the new board will be able to curb the disinformation being spread online, the Biden administration has given it its full support. The only problem, much of the information they label as fake is most of the time, a different opinion they don’t necessarily agree with. Hoping to shed some light on the dangers of such a board, Republican Representative Lauren Boebert recently listed out some of the beliefs that the new head of the board, Nina Jankowicz, has spread. 

In the video, which is featured below, Boebert didn’t hurl baseless accusations at Jankowicz. Instead, she simply revealed some of her most recent thoughts. They included former President Trump working with ISIS, the Hunter Biden laptop being Trump propaganda, and that the Wuhan lab COVID-19 theory should be censored. Take a look. 

Firing off the list, Boebert stated, “Who did America’s hire to run this Orwellian Ministry of Truth? This lady Nina Jankowicz. Mayorkas calls her an expert on disinformation, probably because she tells lies all the dang time. Nina said that President Trump would embolden ISIS. Well, he defeated it. Nina said the Hunter Biden laptop from hell was a Trump campaign product. Nina said that concerned parents who wanted a say in their children’s education were pushing disinformation. And Nina said big tech should censor the Wuhan lab leak theory because it was, you guessed it, disinformation.”

Not entirely sure as to why the Democrats and White House would create such an organization, Boebert asked if it had anything to do with billionaire Elon Musk buying Twitter. “Nina doesn’t seem to have a good relationship with the truth, and will surely use this board to silence Americans. Nina is no public servant. This doesn’t sound like someone who should be monitoring Americans speech. The Democratic Party has truly lost their minds. From intimidating judges at their homes, burning down pregnancy centers, and vandalizing churches, to calling moms and dads domestic terrorists and now creating this department to censor free speech because extremists are scared of what, Elon Musk?”

Before Boebert could finish her speech, her time on the floor had run out, but not before presenting a series of questions many Americans were wondering themselves and called for the board to be defunded.

One user online wrote, “Not defunded; Those responsible arrested and charged with deprivation of rights under color of law. The punishment for which is death or life imprisonment. Nobody is above the law, yet this law never seems to be addressed.”
