The First Lady Jill Biden is opening up about her marriage to President Joe Biden, saying that when they argue, they prefer not to hash it out in front of others. Instead, they reportedly settle their arguments via text.

Jill told Harper’s Bazaar magazine that she and the president fight out their arguments via text message, a practice that they call “fexting.” This allows them to fight without their Secret Service agents seeing anything.

Jill claimed that after one recent text argument, Joe told her, “You realize that’s going to go down in history. There will be a record of that.”

“I won’t tell you what I called him that time,” Jill added.

Jill also opened up about her first marriage and divorce, saying that it taught her the importance of independence.

“I knew I would never, ever put myself in that position again, where I didn’t feel like I had the finances to be on my own, that I had to get the money through a divorce settlement,” she explained.

“I drummed that into (my daughter), Ashley, ‘Be independent, be independent.’ And my granddaughters,” Jill added. “You have to be able to stand on your own two feet.”

It should be noted that while Joe and Jill have always claimed that they met on a blind date after her divorce, her first husband Bill Stevenson has claimed that he was still married to her when the current First Lady allegedly began having an affair with the current president.

“I was betrayed by the Bidens,” Stevenson told Inside Edition last year. “Joe was my friend. Jill was my wife.”

Jill fired back by denying the claims made by her first husband.

“These claims are fictitious, seemingly to sell and promote a book,” she said. “The relationship of Joe and Jill Biden is well documented. Jill Biden separated from her first husband irreconcilably in the fall of 1974 and moved out of their marital home. Joe and Jill Biden had their first date in March of 1975, and they married in June of 1977.”

Jill previously discussed her first marriage in her memoir, writing, “I truly believed we were destined for each other…looking back it may seem like a mistake of youth.”

Stevenson has insisted that he is not trying to get any kind of revenge on the Bidens all these years later.

“Listen. I’ve said from the very beginning, I have no hard feelings about Joe, Jill, the affair. It means nothing to me now,” Stevenson said. “Everybody’s saying, ‘Bill, you’re being so mean bringing this up now.’ But if I don’t do it now it’s never going to be able to be brought up.”
