New Details Emerge About Nancy Pelosi’s Marriage After Her Husband Is Arrested For DUI

Last week, we reported [1] that Paul Pelosi, the husband of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, was arrested for DUI in California. Now, new details are emerging about their marriage in the wake of his arrest.

The New York Post [2] reported that Paul, 82, was charged with two misdemeanors, including driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 or higher, after his Porsche hit a jeep in Napa.

“Everyone drives home a little drunk in Napa,” said one longtime friend of Paul’s. “He’s big guy. He probably thought he was OK.”

Though Paul has been married to Nancy since 1963, friends of his say that it’s long been an open secret that he is something of a womanizer.

“He was a real man about town until she became speaker and that got shut down,” said one Pelosi insider. “I’m amazed they kept it under wraps … She’s off the running the country and he’s back in San Fran. But he’s stuck with her. He could have dumped her a** for some pretty little thing. He’s a good Catholic.”

Paul and Nancy have five children together, and he founded and runs the venture capital firm Financial Leasing Services. Friends of his say that they were shocked to learn after Paul’s DUI that he had been responsible for the 1957 death of his older brother in a car crash. As we reported [3] last week, Paul had been behind the wheel at the time of the crash, and had been driving recklessly fast.

“We had no idea,” Paul’s friend said of the 1957 accident. “But it wouldn’t change anyone’s opinion of him around here. People love him here. And nobody cares about the [drunk] driving thing.”

Some see the marriage between Nancy and Paul as little more than a lucrative partnership.

“Nancy Pelosi is the embodiment of what’s wrong with Washington, DC,” said Richard Grenell, the former Trump-appointed acting director of national intelligence. “Politicians who cater to the elites and who are the elites themselves.”

However, Paul’s friend denied that he has profited from Nancy’s position in politics.

“He was making money for years before she became so powerful,” the friend said. “If anything, he might be making less than he could because of Nancy’s position.”

This friend added that Paul has “incredible” charisma.

“He’s one sexy motherf–ker, even now,” she said. “When I get seated next to him at a dinner party, I know it’s going to be great. He is that charming a guy. Very attentive. A real bon vivant.”

As for Nancy, it doesn’t seem like she plans to retire anytime soon.

“She keeps saying she’s going to retire,” said one friend. “But she never does.”

Nancy has yet to publicly comment on her husband’s DUI arrest.
