Ivanka Trump Pays Touching Tribute To Late Mother Ivana At Her Funeral – ‘She Was A Trailblazer’

Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former President Donald Trump, was laid to rest at a funeral service yesterday six days after she died suddenly at the age of 73 due to injuries that she suffered in a fall.

During the funeral, Ivana’s daughter Ivanka delivered a touching eulogy for her mother at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church on the Upper East Side.

“Growing up, my mother didn’t tell me a woman could do anything she wanted to — she showed me,”said Ivanka, 40, according to The New York Post [1]. “She was a trailblazer [to] men and women alike.”

“My mother once told me there was nothing she couldn’t do in heels,” she continued. “She taught us how to spear fish and then cook what we caught. My mom expanded our minds.”

Ivanka went on to recall following her mother around Trump Plaza back in the 1980s as she oversaw operations there, saying that she was “pure fun” on the job.

“Mom, I’ll always love you today and every day. You were and always will be the light of our lives,” Ivanka added as she held back tears.

Ivanka had kicked off her eulogy by saying that her mother would not have been a fan of her own funeral service.

“My mother hated funerals,” Ivanka said. “She wanted to celebrate life.”

Ivanka’s brothers Donald Jr. and Eric also delivered eulogies for their mother, with the former saying that Ivana was “fearless and independent” for “escaping the iron curtain” of then-communist Czech Republic.

“[She] shattered so many norms,” he said.

Former President Trump attended the funeral with his current wife Melania and their 16 year-old son Barron.

“The room was filled with joy and drenched with tears,” society columnist R. Couri Hay, who attended the service, told People Magazine [2].

Another source that attended the funeral described the service as “incredibly emotional and touching,” and calling it “an excellent service.”

Ivana died suddenly last Thursday after falling down the stairs of her townhouse in Manhattan. While former President Trump did not speak at her funeral, he did pay tribute to Ivana after her death.

“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” he said in a statement [3]. “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.”

“Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric,” he continued. “She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”

Ivana was born in Czechoslovakia in 1949, and she met Trump in the 1970s, marrying him in 1977 and staying with him until they divorced in 1992. Though their divorce got very public and nasty at times, they remained friends afterwards, and she was an outspoken supporter of Trump’s when he ran for president successfully in 2016.

Ivana was a truly incredible woman who will be missed by her family, friends, and fans for many years to come. May she rest in peace.
