Former President Donald Trump is firing back at the FBI after the bureau raided his Mar-a-Lago estate on Monday, claiming that agents left his wife Melania’s closet a “mess” when they left.

“….Just learned that agents went through the First Lady’s closets and rummaged through her clothing and personal items,” Trump said, according to Business Insider. “Surprisingly, left area in a relative mess. Wow!”

This came after Trump stated that he and his team have been fully compliant with the FBI’s investigation, meaning the raid was not necessary.

“My attorneys and representatives were cooperating fully, and very good relationships had been established,” Trump said. “The government could have had whatever they wanted, if we had it.”

“They asked us to put an additional lock on a certain area – DONE!” he added. “Everything was fine, better than that of most previous Presidents, and then, out of nowhere and with no warning, Mar-a-Lago was raided, at 6:30 in the morning, by VERY large numbers of agents, and even ‘safecrackers.’ They got way ahead of themselves. Crazy!”

Immediately after the raid, Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara, who is married to his son Eric, told Fox News that the former president was “shocked” by what the FBI did.

“I have spoken to my father-in-law…he’s as shocked as anybody,” she said. “I think for someone and anyone quite frankly who loves this country and believes in America, this should shake you to your core. What has happened today, this is a very clear demarcation in the history of America.”

“Never before…have we seen something like this happen, where an unannounced raid by the FBI is conducted on a former president of the United States,” she continued. “Think about this, if this is what they’re able to do to the former president of the United States, think about they could do to you, to anybody in America.”

On Thursday, Lara went on Fox News once again to say that this may have backfired on the left, as she feels that it has only garnered more support for her father-in-law.

“This just solidified a lot of enthusiasm behind Donald Trump,” she said of the raid. “A lot of people feel like he’s been given such a raw deal so many times. Look at the incredible things that he did when he was president of the United States. With so much scrutiny, so much incoming, with so much pressure on him, he got so many great things done.”

“Man, do we need Donald Trump back now more than ever?” she added. “This country is in a dire situation. I think they know he’s the guy that can get it done. So I think people now more than ever want Donald Trump to run for president in 2024. This just solidifies a lot of support behind him as far as I’m concerned.”

Lara also lamented the fact that the Bidens and Clintons never have anything done to them legally.

“Look at the Bidens, look at the Clintons, have a history of criminality and covering it up, and there’s absolutely nothing done to them,” she stated. “Why is it only the Trump family and Donald Trump that seems to continue to have these witch hunts against him? He is constantly attacked.”

Trump has yet to announce whether or not he plans to run for president in 2024, but in the wake of this raid, he’s said that he’s made his decision. It will certainly be interesting to see what that decision is.
