Megyn Kelly didn’t mince words during her podcast on Tuesday, tearing into fans of Luigi Mangione, the man accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

As The New York Post reported, The conservative commentator called those lionizing Mangione “a**holes” and “cretins,” criticizing the bizarre hero worship some have shown for the 26-year-old Ivy League graduate.

“This guy is not a hero at all,” Kelly declared on The Megyn Kelly Show. “We should not be lauding his good looks – which really aren’t existent – all over the internet. These people are f*cking sick.”

Mangione, who allegedly shot Thompson in midtown Manhattan, was the target of a days-long manhunt before authorities apprehended him at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s. Currently in custody, Mangione is fighting extradition to New York, where he faces charges for the high-profile murder.

Despite the severity of the crime, Mangione has attracted a disturbing level of admiration from certain corners of the internet. Social media users on platforms like TikTok and X have commented on his appearance, with some even organizing a lookalike contest in New York City.

A fundraising campaign for Mangione’s legal defense has also garnered thousands of dollars, much to Kelly’s disgust.

“I’m so grossed out by this reaction to the murder of this insurance company CEO,” Kelly said. “It’s pretty widespread on the left how they are lionizing the alleged murderer.”

Kelly specifically called out former Washington Post journalist Taylor Lorenz, who expressed “joy” over Thompson’s death, and Bulwark writer Tim Miller, who bizarrely focused on Mangione’s physical fitness.

“This guy Brian Thompson has two boys,” Kelly said. “Their father was killed three weeks before Christmas, and these a**holes are talking about how they want to sleep with the killer, how hot he is. … Screw you for talking about his abs, you disgusting cretins.”

Authorities are investigating whether a back injury Mangione suffered in July 2023 played a role in what appears to be a premeditated act of violence.

The incident underscores the growing cultural divide, as some on the left openly celebrate acts of aggression against figures in unpopular industries, regardless of the human cost.

Kelly’s outrage reflects the sentiment of many Americans appalled by the glorification of violence and the abandonment of basic decency. As the investigation unfolds, it’s clear that justice must be served—not just for Brian Thompson’s family but also for the societal norms under siege.
