Andy Beyer is living every husband and father’s worst nightmare. He lost his wife, Justyna, and daughter, Brielle, in last week’s devastating plane crash over Washington, D.C., and now, he’s reliving the horrifying moment he realized they were gone, as reported by TMZ.
Speaking to CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Monday, Andy detailed the gut-wrenching discovery that his family wasn’t coming home.

His wife and daughter had been returning from Wichita, Kansas, where Brielle attended the National Development Camp for U.S. Figure Skating. It was a routine trip, one Andy and his son had eagerly awaited.
They were parked near the airport, ready to greet them as they had so many times before.

At first, everything seemed normal. Andy had been texting with Justyna and Brielle “right before they were supposed to land.” The flight tracker even confirmed their plane had arrived.
But then, the messages stopped. His iPhone texts, which were blue just moments before, turned green. That was the first sign something was terribly wrong.
Then came the sirens. Fire trucks sped past the airport. Andy’s stomach sank. He frantically reached out for information, only to receive the unthinkable news.

What came next was every parent’s worst fear—telling his young son.
“We had a really long cry. He let out this, like, ‘Nooo.’ It really hurt,” Andy said. “And that’s how we found out, right before anything was really official, but we already knew.”
Kaitlan Collins from CNN was moved to tears during an interview with a father recounting the tragic loss of his wife, Justyna Beyer, and 12-year-old daughter, Brielle Beyer, in a crash in Washington, D.C.

The grief is immeasurable, but Andy is determined to keep Justyna and Brielle’s memory alive. He wants the world to know who they were, the love they shared, and the lives they touched.
The tragic crash claimed 67 lives when an Army Black Hawk helicopter collided with an American Airlines regional jet over the Potomac River late Wednesday night. There were no survivors.
Federal authorities are now piecing together what happened in this devastating midair disaster. As the investigation unfolds, families like Andy’s are left with nothing but heartbreak, memories, and the painful reality of an empty home.
