A courtroom in Albuquerque, New Mexico, turned into a battleground on Friday when the family of a murdered woman took justice into their own hands—launching a full-blown attack on the man accused of taking her life, as reported by TMZ.
The explosive confrontation, captured on video, showcases the raw emotion and anger boiling over in what should have been a routine legal proceeding.
The suspect, Alexander Ortiz, appeared before a judge for his alleged role in the killing of his ex-girlfriend, Alianna Farfan. But before the judge could even get through the hearing, chaos erupted.
Farfan’s uncle, Carlos Lucero, couldn’t contain his rage any longer. He leaped over the courtroom gate and lunged at Ortiz, knocking him to the ground in a flurry of fists.
In a scene reminiscent of a full-contact street fight, another man—later identified as Pete Ysasi—joined in, raining down blows on Ortiz. But the brawl wasn’t one-sided for long.

The courtroom melee lasted nearly a minute before sheriff’s deputies finally managed to step in and break it up. The outburst, though short-lived, left an undeniable mark on an already tragic case.
Lucero, still fired up after the incident, had no regrets. According to reports, he told police the fight “was worth every moment” because “he killed my niece like a coward.”
His unapologetic response speaks volumes about the deep pain and frustration many victims’ families feel when they see accused murderers calmly sitting in court, awaiting their legal fate.
But in the eyes of the law, taking matters into one’s own hands comes at a cost. Lucero and Ysasi were both arrested and hit with felony charges for their courtroom takedown.

Meanwhile, Ortiz remains on trial for Farfan’s murder, facing justice the slow way—the way that doesn’t involve flying fists and family vengeance.
While some might argue that cooler heads should have prevailed, it’s hard to ignore the raw emotion behind the attack. Watching an accused murderer stand trial for killing a loved one is an unbearable weight for many families.
This time, though, that weight exploded into action in a way the court surely won’t forget.
