‘Bachelorette’ Cancellation Fallout: Taylor Frankie Paul is Seen Wearing Message Shirt After Show Pulled

Reality television personality Taylor Frankie Paul was seen in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday, days after her season of “The Bachelorette” was abruptly canceled, as fallout continues from the release of previously recorded footage tied to a 2023 incident, as reported [1] by Page Six.

Paul, 31, was photographed smiling while wearing a blue Nodpod sweatshirt with the phrase, “Can’t Wait To Sleep With You.”

She paired the sweatshirt with an oversized pink T-shirt and loose, wide-legged pants. She also wore sunglasses and had her hair styled in loose waves.

Her appearance comes after ABC canceled her season of “The Bachelorette,” which had been scheduled to premiere Sunday.

The network pulled the show following the release of video footage from 2023 that showed Paul involved in an altercation with her ex, Dakota Mortensen.

The footage, published by TMZ, showed Paul throwing a chair during the incident while her then 5-year-old daughter, Indy, was nearby and crying.

In response to the cancellation, a spokesperson for Paul issued a statement to Page Six. “Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security.

After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.”

Mortensen, 32, who shares a 2-year-old son, Ever, with Paul, responded by denying the allegations.

“I am, unfortunately, used to these baseless claims about me and our relationship, which I categorically deny,” he told Page Six in a statement. “I am focusing on our son and his safety, and hope that Taylor will do the same.”

The situation has also extended into legal proceedings. Paul recently lost temporary custody of Ever after Mortensen filed for an order of protection against her last Thursday.

Sources close to the situation told Page Six that Paul had been concerned for years about the potential release of the 2023 video, which was reportedly recorded on Mortensen’s cellphone.

The cancellation of the season has also raised questions about the financial impact on the network and production partners. According to insiders cited by Page Six, the decision could result in significant losses for ABC.

“It’s ridculous,” an insider told the outlet. “It could be $50 million [or more]. Someone’s gotta get fired from this. It’s ridiculous.”

In addition to financial concerns, legal action may follow from participants involved in the canceled season.

TMZ reported that five contestants from Paul’s season are considering filing a lawsuit against ABC and Warner Bros. Discovery, which produced the show.

According to sources cited by the outlet, the contestants believe that Warner Bros.

Discovery created an unsafe working environment by allowing Paul to participate in filming and interact with contestants in private settings, given her prior history.

The developments mark a sudden end to a season that had been set to air nationally, while leaving ongoing legal, financial, and personal issues unresolved.
