Cher’s Son Arrested at Elite NH School, Told Officials He Was a ‘Prospective Parent’ Before Arrest [WATCH]

Elijah Allman, the 49-year-old son of singer Cher and the late musician Gregg Allman, is facing multiple misdemeanor charges following his arrest at St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, on Feb. 27, as reported [1] by Fox News.

Allman was taken into custody after authorities responded to a disturbance at the elite boarding school.

He was charged with four misdemeanors, including two counts of simple assault and two counts of criminal trespass and criminal threatening, as well as a violation of disorderly conduct. He was later released on bail.

Officials told local television station WMUR that Allman has no connection to the school. According to a message sent to parents by St. Paul’s officials and obtained by the Concord Monitor, Allman claimed he was a “prospective parent.”

Allman, who is reportedly separated from his wife, singer Marieangela “Queenie” King, has no known children.

The message stated that Allman displayed aggressive behavior toward faculty members and police officers.

School officials said the incident began around 6 p.m. when Allman was driven onto campus by another individual and entered the dining hall as students were exiting.

Allman reportedly smoked a cigarette while interacting with students inside the dining hall.

According to the school’s message, he became agitated when some students began following him and allegedly “poking one with his cane” during the encounter. Faculty and campus safety officers responded after being informed of the disturbance.

School officials wrote that when confronted, Allman allegedly “pushed one faculty member with his cane” before being escorted out of the building.

“He was belligerent toward our adults and the police officers,” officials wrote in the message.

The school noted that the incident coincided with a playoff hockey game, winter dance, and music performances, which brought more adults unfamiliar to students onto campus than usual.

The individual who drove Allman to campus was questioned at the scene but was not detained. According to the message, the person left campus immediately afterward.

Two days later, Allman was arrested again at a home in Windham, New Hampshire, according to the Concord Monitor.

Police responded to a 911 call around 9:47 a.m., reporting that someone had entered a home through a shattered back door, with the caller hiding in a closet.

Officers found Allman sitting on the living room couch smoking a cigarette and took him into custody without incident.

Police reported that nothing appeared to be stolen, but a glass pane in the rear door had been shattered, and a fresh cigarette burn was found on a rug inside the home. The estimated damage was approximately $1,000.

According to court records obtained by the Concord Monitor, Allman told officers the homeowner had given him permission “to enter the residence and break the door.”

Allman is scheduled to be arraigned on March 11 at Salem District Court and on April 20 at Concord District Court.

In their message, St. Paul’s officials said they intend to update staff training and reinforce visitor protocols in response to the incident.

“While this event was serious, it would not have garnered media attention if it were not for Mr. Allman’s celebrity status,” the school wrote.

Allman has previously faced mental health and substance abuse challenges. In June 2025, authorities in San Bernardino County responded to a disturbance call at a residence in Landers.

“Deputies from our Morongo Basin Station responded to a residence in Landers for a male subject acting erratically,” the Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement obtained by Fox News Digital.

“When deputies arrived, Elijah Allman, 48, was being evaluated by emergency medical personnel. Deputies located drugs inside the home, and Allman was transported to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.”

In December 2023, Cher was appointed temporary conservator of Allman, with court documents stating he was “substantially unable to manage his financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues.”

The filing argued that funds from a trust established by Gregg Allman would “immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk.”

Allman responded in January 2024, stating, “I do not need her unsolicited help or support at this time.”

He also wrote that he had refrained from illicit substances “that have historically caused the incidents that have given rise to my mother’s concern.” Cher later lost the temporary conservatorship in January 2024.
