House Conservatives Hit Brakes: ‘No SAVE AMERICA Act, No Senate Agenda’ [WATCH]

Election integrity legislation and voter identification requirements were the focus of a recent discussion between Jon Glasgow and Scott Presler, founder of Early Vote Action, during which Presler highlighted polling data showing strong national support for proof-of-citizenship requirements for voting.

Glasgow opened the discussion by introducing Presler and referencing his role in grassroots organizing during the most recent election cycle.

“Here to discuss is founder of early vote action.com Scott Pressler, great to see you. He’s also known as one of the driving forces that helped President Trump win re election, and I had the chance to meet you, Scott on the campaign trail. You were doing your best in Pennsylvania, another state that was incremental in the win here that was big, huge for President Trump.”

Glasgow pointed to a recent poll indicating broad support among Americans for proof-of-citizenship requirements at the ballot box.

“But I want to ask you here about this. According to this new poll, 77% of Americans think that proof of citizenship should be required to vote. That’s a big number, 77% Meanwhile, some Republicans in Congress. You’ve got many of them to Brandon Gill from Texas, is just one example, threatening to oppose all Senate passed legislation until the opera chamber advances the SAVE AMERICA Act.”

Glasgow then asked Presler how the issue looks from the perspective of someone working on voter outreach across several states.

“Talk to me about this. I mean, you do a lot of the groundwork. You go into the states. What’s your take on all this?”

Presler responded by arguing that voters expect action after the election delivered Republican majorities in Washington.

“Well, Thank you for having me back. In 2024 the American people duly elected a completely majority republican government, and here we are, nearly one and a half years in, and the American people demand and expect results.”

Presler said the Republican-led House has repeatedly passed election integrity legislation, including the SAVE AMERICA Act.

“I want to make it clear speaker Mike Johnson and the Republican House are doing its job. They are passing bill after bill after bill, including three times the Save act, slash SAVE AMERICA Act, and so now it’s being stalled in the Senate.”

Presler said the measure has support from both the House and President Donald Trump.

“The House wants it. The President is advocating for it.”

He also referenced several Republican lawmakers who have threatened to block Senate legislation until the bill is brought forward.

“And I want to give a shout out, because you just mentioned Brandon Gill. He said he’s a no on any Senate legislation until the SAVE AMERICA Act is passed on a plane.”

Presler also mentioned other members of Congress who are taking a similar approach.

“Luna is playing hardball, saying she won’t even vote for FISA unless the city of America Act is attached to it. DEREK VAN orden brandy and brandy fine out of Florida.”

Presler said those lawmakers have made their position clear about Senate inaction.

“All of these Republican House members are making it clear, if the Senate is not going to do its job than any Senate legislation is not going to move forward in the house, and I think that is the pathway forward.”

Glasgow then asked Presler about the broader impact of requiring proof of citizenship in elections.

“Yeah, you work for the Republicans and try to get people registered to vote. How much do you think if this were to pass? How much do you think that this would would help elections in general?”

Presler argued that election integrity concerns are not partisan and pointed to a specific case in Pennsylvania.

“This is not a red nor blue issue. Look at what just happened in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We had an illegal alien by the name of Mahady Sacko registered since 2005 an illegal alien, and he’s voted in the last five presidential elections.”

Presler said the situation illustrates how unlawful voting can dilute legitimate ballots.

“That means that his illegal alien vote diluted another American citizens vote.”

He said similar cases have appeared in other states.

“We’re seeing illegal alien voting in Arizona. We’re seeing illegal alien voting in Michigan.”

Presler said the issue should be viewed through the lens of election fairness rather than party politics.

“I want to make that evident. This is not Republican. This is not Democrat. This is about fairness, inequality and any fraudulent vote discounts a legal, lawful American vote.”

Presler noted that polling data shows the issue resonates broadly with voters.

“As you mentioned, this has national popularity across all demographics. It’s time the Senate get its act together, and I welcome Senate Majority Leader Thune bringing the SAVE AMERICA Act to the Senate floor for debate.”

Glasgow then asked Presler about the ongoing activities of Early Vote Action and its work registering voters across the country.

“Tell me about the good work that you do. I know that part of the last election cycle, I mean, you did a lot of groundwork. Tell me what you’re doing now.”

Presler said the organization continues operating in Pennsylvania and is expanding into another battleground state.

“I love our organization, earlyvoteaction.com we have over a dozen staff right now in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Would love for you to join us at that website, earlyvote action.com we’re still continuing to register voters at truck stops and fraternity houses and farms and fairs and festivals gun shows.”

Presler said the organization is expanding into Nevada ahead of upcoming election cycles.

“And I want to let you know that we’re expanding into the great state of Nevada, and so you’re going to see early vote action help to make sure that Nevada becomes a red state going into the 2026 and 2028 elections.”

Glasgow closed the interview by thanking Presler for joining the discussion.

“Absolutely. Scott Pressler, thank you again for coming on. Great to see you again and keep up the good work.”
