A Planned Parenthood clinic in Sacramento, California, has begun offering cosmetic procedures such as Botox injections and lip fillers as the organization seeks additional revenue after federal funding reductions, as reported [1] by The New York Post.
The services are being provided through Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, which operates clinics throughout California and Nevada.
The Sacramento location now offers Botox, dermal fillers, GLP-1 weight-loss medications, and nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, for anxiety and pain management.

The expansion comes after federal funding to Planned Parenthood was reduced by $100 million under legislation signed by President Donald Trump.
Dr. Laura Dalton, chief medical officer for Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, said the new offerings represent an effort to broaden the clinic’s services during a financial challenge.
“We’re not your mom’s Planned Parenthood,” Dalton told KCRA while discussing the new direction.
Dalton said the organization decided to introduce additional services outside its traditional medical offerings in order to generate more revenue.
Outside of abortion services and other reproductive healthcare, the Sacramento location now provides cosmetic treatments that are typically associated with med-spas or dermatology clinics.
Dalton said the changes reflect the organization’s response to the financial pressure created by the funding reduction.
“We are resilient and innovative, and I like to say that when faced with a crisis, our doors did not close. They opened wider,” Dalton said.
The clinic is also offering GLP-1 medications used for weight loss and nitrous oxide to assist patients dealing with anxiety or pain during procedures.
State funding has also played a role in helping the organization address the financial gap. Earlier this month, California Gov. Gavin Newsom provided Planned Parenthood Mar Monte with $90 million, which Dalton said helped offset much of the lost federal funding.
