Senator’s Tearful Story Exposes the Side of President Trump the Media Desperately Tries to Hide [WATCH]

Sen. Markwayne Mullin recounted a personal story involving his son’s severe brain injury and the support he said President Donald Trump provided during a difficult period for his family.

Mullin began by describing the incident that occurred on January 17, 2020. “It’s not about President Trump, it’s about my son,” Mullin said.

He explained, “So my son was a really world class athlete, and January 17 of 2020, which, mind you, was an election year.

He had a really serious brain injury, woke up 26 hours later, he’s a different kid.”

He detailed the severity of the situation, stating, “We almost lost him for 26 hours. He had an extremely low pulse. There was a time they that they thought that they lost his pulse altogether.”

Mullin said that when his son regained consciousness, his condition had drastically changed.

“When he woke up he was just different,” he said.

Mullin described the extent of the damage, noting that his son struggled with basic functions.

“He couldn’t touch his nose. He couldn’t walk without shuffling his feet. He had short term memory loss. He couldn’t control his muscles, couldn’t add five plus three,” he said.

At the time, his son was still in high school and required significant rehabilitation. “Had to learn how to read, walk, everything,” Mullin added.

According to Mullin, President Trump learned about the situation and reached out directly.

“The President found out about it, and he gave me a call immediately,” Mullin said.

He recalled part of their conversation, saying, “He said, let me get this straight. He doesn’t know who you and Chris you are, but he knew I was because the only question you got right is who the President was.”

Mullin said the President quickly offered assistance once he understood the seriousness of the injury.

“He heard it in my voice, and immediately he went to work,” Mullin said.

He explained that his family needed to travel to a specialized rehabilitation facility.

“I told him we had to get to Bakersfield, California, to the Center for neural skills,” he said.

Mullin stated that President Trump offered significant help with travel arrangements.

“The President offered us in his plane, his personal plane, this President United States,” Mullin said.

Although the family ultimately drove to the facility, Mullin said the President remained closely involved. “He called almost every day for two weeks, checking on Jim,” he said.

Mullin said President Trump later made a personal visit despite the demands of an election year.

“He says, I’m going to come see,” Mullin said. He noted the timing and location of the visit, saying, “This is the middle of the election. This is Bakersfield, California, really not an area. He’s got to go campaign.” Mullin added, “He took the time to come up there and and see Jim.”

During that visit, Mullin described a moment that stood out.

“The President didn’t talk to me,” he said.

Instead, he focused his attention on Mullin’s son. “He did nothing but love on my son,” Mullin said.

He said medical staff had explained that a significant moment could help trigger improvements in his son’s memory.

“The center told us that the the short term memory loss would something would trigger it,” Mullin said.

He added, “That one incident jogged his memory, and from then on, he started retaining things.”

Mullin said his son’s outlook changed following the visit. “Jim’s attitude went from from this, you know, we’re going to get through it to this, I’m going to get through it,” he said.

He also described continued support from President Trump after the initial recovery period.

“Every week, if not most days, the President would call and ask how he could help,” Mullin said.

He added, “Ask, what How’s his buddy doing? How’s Jim doing?”

Mullin said the outreach was not publicized. “He didn’t do it for publicity. He didn’t do it for any show,” he said.

He noted that the President remained engaged despite campaign pressures.

“He was running in one of the toughest elections he had been in, and the guy was still that concerned about my son,” Mullin said.

After his son’s condition improved, Mullin said the family was invited to visit Mar-a-Lago.

He recalled a moment during that visit when President Trump spoke directly to his son.

“He grabbed my son and he said, Do you know why I love your dad?” Mullin said.

He continued, “He goes, because He loves you, because of you, because of you.”

Mullin concluded by reflecting on the experience, saying the actions taken by President Trump left a lasting impression on his family.

“He didn’t do it for any other reason,” Mullin said.

“I mean, here’s the president United States, and he did it just because he cared.”
