Atlanta Woman Killed While Walking Dog as Suspect is Linked to Multiple Shootings [WATCH]

An early morning killing in an Atlanta-area neighborhood has left residents shaken after a woman was found dead while walking her dog, with investigators later linking a suspect to two additional fatal shootings across the region, as reported by the Blaze [1].

According to the DeKalb County Police Department, officers responded to a call at approximately 6:50 a.m. Monday on Battle Forrest Drive. When they arrived, they discovered a woman suffering from both gunshot and stab wounds.

A nearby resident, Tiffany Williams, told WXIA-TV she heard multiple gunshots and rushed outside, where she witnessed part of the attack.

“I was getting up, getting my grandbaby ready for school, and I heard six to seven shots, so I ran out the door, and when I ran out the door, I saw the lady across the street with a man standing over her,” Williams said.

Williams said she initially reacted as a parent seeing someone in distress rather than immediately processing what was happening.

“I heard the shooting, but I’m not thinking because as a mother and I’m seeing her lying there, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’ve got to help her,'” she added.

She said she made eye contact with the suspect during the incident and described what she observed before he fled.

“I saw he was wearing all black, and then he ran up the street,” she added.

Williams also said the suspect was pulling the victim’s pants down when she saw him.

Neighbors described the area as typically quiet, with many elderly residents living nearby.

Later that evening, authorities from Brookhaven and DeKalb County provided an update, identifying a suspect as 26-year-old Olaolukitan Adon Abel. Police said he was taken into custody during a traffic stop in Troup County.

Investigators said Abel is also a suspect in a separate deadly shooting at a Checkers restaurant on Wesley Chapel Road, as well as another fatal shooting involving a homeless individual at a Kroger grocery store in Brookhaven.

According to police, the victim at the Kroger location had been sleeping around 2 a.m. when he was shot multiple times. In the Checkers case, a woman was shot at approximately 12:50 a.m. and later died at a hospital.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the woman killed while walking her dog. The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to determine her official cause of death.

The sequence of incidents has raised concerns across multiple communities as law enforcement works to piece together the timeline and circumstances surrounding the shootings.

Police have not provided additional details about a possible motive. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to examine evidence connected to all three incidents.
