Bill Maher, David Cross Clash Over Transgender Issues During Fiery Podcast Exchange [WATCH]

Comedian Bill Maher and actor-comedian David Cross engaged in a contentious discussion over transgender issues during an episode of Maher’s podcast, Club Random, released Monday, as reported [1] by The New York Post.

The exchange centered on topics including transgender participation in female sports and broader cultural debates, with both men offering differing perspectives throughout the conversation.

Maher referenced comments previously made by Seth Moulton regarding concerns about transgender athletes competing in girls’ sports.

“He said, ‘Look, I don’t want my 12-year-old daughter to be on the soccer field and be run over by someone who’s identifying as a woman but is really a boy’ … and a lot of people applauded him for that,” Maher said.

Maher continued by citing an example involving Olympic competition.

“I mean, we saw in the Olympics a okay, born a man, now fighting as a woman boxer just beat the dog s–t out of a woman, the other boxer. A lot of people were disturbed by that.

“It’s very disturbing to watch because it’s a man beating the s–t out of a woman. I’m just saying there’s stuff inside the bubble that could be bad.”

Cross responded by disputing the premise, saying he had seen examples of pre-pubescent girls outperforming boys in athletic contexts.

“This is what’s wrong with the looney left, they just die on the hills that are unnecessary to die on,” Maher said during the discussion.

The conversation intensified when Cross referenced his personal experience as a parent, noting that his 9-year-old daughter has transgender friends at school.

“Wait, she has trans friends in third grade?” Maher asked. “They know they’re trans in third grade?”

Maher questioned whether children at that age are capable of making decisions about gender identity.

“I knew somebody who said to me, a woman said, ‘I was with what they called a tomboy. If I was alive now and acted the way I did then, that’s what they would have done to me,’” Maher said, recalling a past conversation.

“Well, nobody’s doing this to her,” Cross replied.

“Somebody is doing something because 8- or 9-year-olds can’t do anything on their own,” Maher responded.

It all started when David Cross revealed his 9-year-old daughter has “trans friends.”

As the exchange continued, the two agreed to disagree on the topic. The discussion then shifted toward broader political implications and voter sentiment.

Maher made a remark referencing JD Vance.

“Good luck with President Vance,” Maher said.

Cross reacted with surprise, prompting Maher to elaborate.

“As I always say to my woke friends, we voted for the same person. You’re just why she lost. This is a case of that,” Maher said.

“We voted for the same person, you’re just why she lost,” he repeated.

“America hears this and they’re going to go ‘Bill’s right, 8-year-olds can’t really make decisions on their own like this.’

“That’s what most people are going to say. And this is where the Democrats are with David Cross living in Brooklyn with Mamdami loving, and this is why, you know, we’re going to vote for JD Vance. That’s America in a nutshell.”

The exchange has drawn attention online, with viewers highlighting the disagreement as part of a broader national conversation surrounding gender identity, youth, and sports participation.
