Hogan said he joined TNA after the divorce, explaining that he had given “everything” during the separation and needed to continue working. However, he indicated that his physical condition at the time limited his ability to perform at the level required under his contract.

According to his account, he turned to pain medication to manage ongoing physical issues. Hogan described the amounts he was taking and the manner in which the medication was administered.

“I was taking 80-milligram fentanyls, two in the morning, stuffing them under my gums here … I had two 300mg patches of fentanyl on my legs, and they gave me six 1500mg fentanyl lollipops to eat,” Hogan said.

He said a pharmacist reacted to the dosage.

“If I just twitched my finger like that, my whole back would spasm and torque,” he said, adding that he had to sleep in a chair due to the severity of the pain.

His last in-ring appearance took place in 2012. He remained with TNA until his contract expired in 2013.

Hogan’s career spanned decades in professional wrestling, and he was considered a central figure in the industry’s growth during the late 20th century. His time with TNA came after his tenure with WWE and other organizations.
