The knives are out inside the Democratic Party once again, this time aimed squarely at the head of their own national committee.

DNC Chairman Ken Martin is under blistering fire following the release of a scathing 200-page “autopsy” of the party’s failed 2024 election strategy.

The report lays bare a political operation that stumbled from confusion to chaos while Republicans marched back into power behind President Donald Trump.

The analysis, prepared by Democratic strategist Paul Rivera and shelved for months before finally being released, reads like a warning label for what happens when a party refuses to face reality.

Trump's Sovereign Wealth Fund: What Could It Mean For Your Money?

At its core, the document exposes deep flaws within the DNC machine, from failed communication strategy and unconvincing economic messaging to the feeble attempt to sell Kamala Harris as a competent successor to Joe Biden.

The report’s findings are hardly shocking for those on the outside who watched the Harris campaign collapse under its own weight.

According to the study, the Biden administration failed to position Harris early enough as a legitimate leader.

Instead, she spent months stuck in the shadow of Biden’s declining presidency, unable to define herself beyond the tired narrative of being "not Trump."

Other parts of the report highlight security lapses in voter engagement and waning enthusiasm among critical demographics that the Democrats once took for granted.

The committee reportedly struggled to coordinate with outside groups and lacked ground-level organization.

WATCH:

While the report offers plenty of excuses, it conveniently skips the topics that remain sore points inside the party, such as the White House’s indecisive handling of the Israel-Gaza crisis and Biden’s refusal to step aside sooner.

DNC Chair Ken Martin tried to cushion the blow in his statement accompanying the release.

He preached the importance of transparency, claiming that the DNC had done its best to verify details but admitted not all the data could be confirmed.

That bland spin did little to cool tempers inside the party. Lawmakers were already seething, and the report only gave them new ammunition to call for change.

Rep. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts fired the first major shot, bluntly saying Martin should resign.

Others quickly followed his lead.

Rep. Mark Pocan from Wisconsin echoed a constituent’s demand for new leadership, saying, “I agree. Having what we have right now is not doing it.”

Rep. Marc Veasey of Texas piled on, telling reporters the party had no clear plan to fix the mess.

Even former Obama insiders have joined the pile-on.

Dan Pfeiffer, a onetime Obama adviser, and Danielle Butterfield of Priorities USA both implied the DNC needs a new direction, suggesting Martin is not the one to lead it.

Their statements reflect a growing consensus within the Democratic ranks that the current leadership can no longer command donor confidence or voter enthusiasm.

Financial woes are adding fuel to the internal rebellion.

WATCH:

The DNC has long been plagued by fundraising problems under Martin’s watch, and current Federal Election Commission reports make the situation plain.

The national committee’s coffers are trailing far behind the Republican National Committee, which now boasts a commanding lead in both monthly receipts and cash on hand.

At the end of March 2026, the DNC reported just $13.8 million available, along with lingering debt that continues to drain resources.

By comparison, the RNC sits comfortably on a much larger pile of campaign cash, ready to spend heavily to protect its growing majorities in Congress.

The gap is not just embarrassing, it is catastrophic for Democrats hoping to hold competitive races in 2026.

Inside the DNC, frustration among staff and activists is reaching a boiling point.

Many say morale is collapsing as grassroots organizers struggle to make sense of what direction the party will take, especially with a potentially bruising midterm battle on the horizon.

The progressive faction that once touted its grassroots power is now blaming leadership for alienating the very voters they claim to represent.

Meanwhile, Martin’s defenders are few and far between.

His tenure has been marked by infighting between moderates and radicals, leaving the party fractured and leaderless.

It is no secret that major donors have pulled back funding over concerns about poor management.

Several Democratic consultants privately admit that unless the DNC makes major changes, the party could find itself outgunned for years to come.

For Republicans, the turmoil is a gift neatly wrapped in blue paper.

WATCH:

As Democrats devour their own leadership and point fingers at one another, the GOP is already organizing for a strong 2026 showing with a clear message and a unified base.

The contrast between competence and chaos could not be more obvious.

If Ken Martin manages to hold on to his job amid this blue civil war, it will be less a testament to his leadership than to the Democrats’ chronic inability to decide who, if anyone, is actually in charge.

The DNC’s latest crisis proves that talk of "unity" on the left remains little more than a campaign slogan.
