Video footage from the livestream, circulated by TMZ, showed the controversial musician doubling down on his statement in front of a group of streamers.
Identified by his legal name, Daniel Hernandez, the rapper bluntly said he only wanted a son and would not keep a daughter.
The group appeared stunned by his words as they reacted to the shocking declaration. Tekashi then introduced Alter to them, which led to one person asking her what gender she believed the baby would be.
When Alter responded that she thought the baby was a girl, the group quickly told her that the rapper had confessed he would not want to keep a female child.

“She’s down, she open-minded,” Tekashi fired back, apparently referring to Alter’s reaction to his statement.

Despite the eruption of criticism online, the livestream continued with the couple learning the baby’s gender. Fortunately for Alter, the results revealed that she is expecting a boy.
Her pregnancy had been made public the previous month when she posted a photo on social media wearing a cheetah-print dress that displayed her baby bump. “My world is about to change,” she wrote next to the snapshot.
Tekashi, who is 30, already has two daughters from previous relationships. The eldest is 12 years old, with ex-girlfriend Sara Molina, and his younger daughter is 7, with Marlayna M.
The rapper’s name has long been associated with controversy, both inside and outside the music industry. His legal record includes multiple high-profile convictions that have fueled his notoriety.
In 2015, he pleaded guilty to a felony count involving the use of a child in a sexual performance.
Four years later, he received a two-year prison sentence after cooperating with authorities by testifying against members of the United Blood Nation street gang.
Following that sentence, he was placed under house arrest in April 2020. His legal troubles continued when, in 2024, he faced arrest again in the Dominican Republic on domestic violence charges.
Director Karam Gill, who previously led a documentary series about the rapper, told Page Six in 2021 that Tekashi 6ix9ine is “truly a horrible human being” who lacks both morals and talent, calling him a “social media mastermind” who knows exactly how to provoke public reaction.
That description seemed fitting yet again following this week’s live gender reveal, where Tekashi’s own words reignited debate about his ethics and the extreme ways he keeps himself at the center of attention.
As clips continue to circulate, the reaction online has been swift and scathing, with many viewers voicing disbelief that such a comment was made publicly.
In the end, however, the livestream concluded with Tekashi celebrating that Alter’s baby is a boy, the one result he said he wanted.
