Girlfriend’s Son Spotted Casually Leaving Scene After ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Actor Stabbed to Death [WATCH]

Chilling surveillance footage captured the moments following the fatal stabbing of “Top Gun: Maverick” actor James Handy, showing the alleged suspect walking away from the crime scene with unsettling composure, as reported [1] by The New York Post.

Police identified the suspect as Michael Gledhill, the 44-year-old son of Handy’s girlfriend [2]. According to a video obtained by Fox 11 Los Angeles, Gledhill appeared on a neighbor’s doorbell camera, calmly strolling down the sidewalk from the Los Angeles home’s front lawn, where Handy was attacked.

Authorities said Handy, 81, suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest outside the residence. He was found unconscious and bleeding when officers arrived and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Footage shows Gledhill slowly leaving the scene before turning around and heading back toward the home. Los Angeles police said he then reportedly flagged down nearby officers, informing them he was the person they were searching for.

Law enforcement responded to the property around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, after a 911 call made by someone identifying himself as “the son of man.” The caller allegedly stated, “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.”

Investigators confirmed that the chilling call led them directly to the residence, where they discovered the veteran actor in grave condition. Despite efforts to revive him, Handy could not be saved.

Police arrested Gledhill at the scene and charged him with murder. His bail was set at $2 million, according to officials.

Authorities have not yet identified a motive for the attack. Investigators said the relationship between Gledhill and Handy revolved around Handy’s long-term connection with Gledhill’s mother, who also lived at the Los Angeles property.

As the investigation continues, police have not released further details about what may have preceded the stabbing. They confirmed that detectives are reviewing the footage and interviewing witnesses.

Handy was a veteran performer whose career spanned several decades. Beginning in the 1970s, he established himself as a character actor whose work appeared in both film and television.

He was most recently seen in the blockbuster sequel “Top Gun: Maverick,” portraying a bartender named Jimmy opposite Hollywood’s elite cast. Handy also earned recognition for his role as an exterminator in the 1995 fantasy film “Jumanji,” which starred Robin Williams.

The veteran actor’s sudden death has left fans shaken and colleagues mourning the loss of an established Hollywood figure known for his quietly memorable performances.

Police said the case remains under investigation and are asking anyone with additional information to contact authorities.
