Political commentator Barbara Boyd said President Donald Trump is pursuing what she described as a three-front campaign involving U.S. policy toward Iran, election security, and opposition from the media and political establishment, arguing that each effort is connected to the administration’s broader agenda.
Boyd opened her commentary by outlining what she believes are the administration’s primary objectives.
“President Trump is waging a three-front war for the future of our republic. Now the media will tell you these fronts are unrelated, but the media was captured long ago and it’s on the other side,” Boyd said.
She said the first front involves U.S. policy toward Iran, the second centers on election integrity, and the third concerns criticism directed at Vice President J.D. Vance and the administration’s economic agenda.
Boyd also referenced Vance’s recent remarks describing what he sees as a shift in Republican economic policy.
“The president has already completely reoriented the conversation towards what you might call an American developmentalist approach. American economic policy on the right is now much more Alexander Hamilton than it is Milton Friedman,” Vance said.
According to Boyd, Vance has become a target of criticism because of that economic philosophy.
“Vance has now joined Trump as a target of the massive psyops being run by the Democrats, establishment Republicans, and the media,” Boyd said.
Turning to the administration’s policy toward Iran, Boyd argued that the objective extends beyond military operations and is focused on protecting international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
She cited remarks from Energy Secretary Chris Wright regarding the administration’s strategy.
“We did a pause to try to get an agreement with the Iranian people to allow oil to flow without them attacking it. They’ve proven unwilling to do that, and we’ve pivoted. Now, what we’re doing is assuring that oil and gas and other products can flow through the Strait of Hormuz, with or without Iranian cooperation,” Wright said.
Boyd said the administration views freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz as an important component of international energy security.
She also argued that Trump’s long-term strategy differs from previous U.S. policy in the Middle East by emphasizing American energy production and expanded international investment.
“Donald Trump wants advanced energy, not just to grow our economy. He wants to build real sovereign trading partners for our future goods and services,” Boyd said.
According to Boyd, increased stability in the Gulf region would support broader investment opportunities beyond traditional oil and gas production.
The commentator then shifted to election integrity, arguing that Trump’s recent address on election security was intended to draw attention to intelligence and vulnerabilities that she believes had not previously received sufficient public attention.
She referenced commentary posted on social media suggesting the administration is releasing information incrementally, while arguing that the president’s objective is broader than revisiting previous elections.
“The president wasn’t addressing people like me,” Boyd said. “I can tell you all about the coup that ran from 2015 to 2024.”
Boyd argued that Trump’s focus is on upcoming elections rather than past contests.
“On Thursday, Trump didn’t relitigate any of that. His target is disengaged midterm voters, pessimistic members of his own coalition, and persuadable people on the other side ahead of the midterms, he’s running a live fire drama about protecting the most sacred right of this republic, the right to vote and to have that vote count,” she said.
She also discussed allegations involving election systems, voter registration rolls, and intelligence agencies, saying the administration intends to continue releasing additional information while encouraging states to update voter registration records before the next federal election.
Boyd then referenced comments from former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino regarding investigations into government agencies.
“Folks, there was an organized internal government effort between intelligence community actors, law enforcement actors, DNI actors to just destroy President Trump completely by whatever means necessary,” Bongino said.
“During my tenure here as your deputy, I’ve relayed to you things that are happening that might not be immediately visible, but they are happening. What I’ve learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters has shocked me down to my core,” he continued.
Boyd argued that public reaction to Trump following the 2024 assassination attempt influenced the presidential election.
“That’s why Trump standing up after being shot and mouthing ‘fight, fight, fight’ dictated the result of the 2024 election,” she said.
Returning to economic policy, Boyd said the administration’s embrace of what Vance described as an Alexander Hamilton approach reflects a broader effort to promote domestic production and long-term economic development.
She contrasted that philosophy with economist Milton Friedman, arguing that the administration favors policies centered on manufacturing, infrastructure, and productive investment.
Boyd concluded by discussing what she described as the leadership qualities required during periods of conflict.
Referring to the military concept of “Schlossenheit,” she argued that President Trump has demonstrated a willingness to make difficult decisions under uncertain circumstances.
“The great German military theorist Karl Clausewitz called Trump’s special form of courage and determination ‘Schlossenheit.’ It is a habitual determination to act and most often act correctly without knowing all the facts,” Boyd said.
She concluded by saying that additional leaders within the administration will need to demonstrate similar resolve.
“If we’re going to win, J.D. Vance, Marco Rubio, and many of us must find that kind of talent and toughness in ourselves,” Boyd said.
