A neighbor of Hayden Panettiere claims she witnessed firefighters remove the late actress from her Los Angeles apartment on a gurney twice during Panettiere’s tumultuous relationship with Brian Hickerson, as reported [1] by Page Six.
The incidents allegedly occurred on July 29, 2023, and January 16, 2024.
Mia Terrazas, who still lives at the same West Hollywood complex, described both occasions during an exclusive interview with Page Six. Evidence reviewed by Page Six appeared to corroborate the dates provided by Terrazas.

Terrazas claimed she saw “bright red spots” and “bruises” on Panettiere, while Hickerson was allegedly present and “glued to” her both times. Terrazas said Panettiere often appeared “battered” during the relationship.
“It appeared that she had been beaten up. It wasn’t apparent to me that it could have been anything else,” Terrazas said. Her daughter, Vileena Koneru, who lived with Terrazas at the time, said she observed the same.
During the 2023 incident, Terrazas asked Panettiere while she was on the gurney whether she was OK. The “Heroes” star allegedly answered, “Yes.”
Koneru said she was also present for the 2024 incident. She and Terrazas claimed they attempted to raise “concerns” with responding firefighters on both occasions, but representatives for Los Angeles County Fire Department Station 7 did not respond to requests for comment.
Page Six could not confirm whether either incident was domestic in nature. Terrazas also claimed she frequently heard “muffled arguments” coming from Panettiere’s nearby apartment, explaining, “You can tell somebody’s arguing just by the tonality. … It was very hostile.”
Terrazas further claimed she once heard the “Remember the Titans” star “screaming” at Hickerson, 37, inside the elevator. Panettiere allegedly shouted, “Just leave me alone! Just stop!” although what happened in the elevator remains unclear.
In July 2020, Los Angeles prosecutors filed an eight-count case against Hickerson that included multiple felony counts of corporal injury, assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and dissuading a witness.
He initially pleaded not guilty before pleading no contest in April 2021 to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or cohabitant.
The remaining charges were dismissed, and Hickerson received 45 days in jail, four years of probation, domestic violence classes, and restitution.
Panettiere was granted a five-year protective order that expired this past April.
Terrazas claimed she saw Hickerson at the apartment complex while the protective order remained active and called the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department “quite a few times.”
She said deputies “removed” him from the property at least once, but she allegedly saw him there again the following day.
According to Terrazas, the sheriff’s department explained that Hickerson and Panettiere continued reuniting despite deputies’ attempts to separate them.
“I understood their point,” Terrazas said. “I just kept calling because I was hoping I would get a different answer.”
In August 2025, the building’s homeowners association posted flyers warning residents about Hickerson allegedly “trespassing” on the property and encouraged them to call 911 if they saw him in common areas or hallways.
Terrazas said the notices came down after approximately one week.
Terrazas said she was “terrified” of Hickerson because of his history of domestic violence and an incident in which he allegedly “followed” her down the stairs.
She also became emotional while recalling that Panettiere “seemed like a different person” and appeared “very subdued” around him.
“She was just so lovely … and just seeing her and passing frequently and, you know, the little chats that I had with her — she made such an impression, and she was such a bright light,” Terrazas said. Hickerson’s attorney declined to comment on her claims.

Panettiere and Hickerson traveled to South Carolina together last Saturday, and she died the following day at age 36 at an Airbnb in Greenville.
A Greenville Police Department dispatch described the suspected cause as an “overdose,” while the official investigation remains active and ongoing.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said first responders attempted advanced cardiac life support measures, but Panettiere was pronounced dead within 45 minutes.
According to the autopsy report, “no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death,” and toxicology results are pending to determine the cause and manner of death.
“While an investigation is ongoing and further developments are coming to light, we are confident that justice will soon be served,” Panettiere’s representative told Page Six.
Hickerson also said through his attorney that Panettiere’s death remains under investigation and that the process should be allowed to proceed.
