Recording artist Nicki Minaj delivered a satirical monologue centered on Dr. Anthony Fauci, mocking the former public health official’s media coverage and influence during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Using the format of a fictional diary entry, Minaj sarcastically portrayed Fauci as someone receiving glowing press coverage despite the controversies surrounding pandemic policies and their impact on Americans.
“Dear diary, well, the press is hot for me,” Minaj began.
She continued the satire by exaggerating Fauci’s public image.
“They say I’m sexier than Tyra Banks.”
“Julia Roberts gasped when she saw how handsome I was.”
“Brad Pitt played me on SNL.”
Minaj then shifted from humor to criticism, referencing the broader effects of pandemic-era policies.
“Never mind that I set millions of children back years on their education.”
She also referenced the isolation experienced by many elderly Americans during the pandemic.
“Never mind that the elderly are alone and afraid, dying by themselves.”
Returning to the theme of media coverage, Minaj suggested that criticism of those policies was overshadowed by positive portrayals of Fauci.
