Perez Hilton was safely recovered from his Miami home and taken to a local hospital after the celebrity blogger shared what appeared to be a video in which he harmed himself.
Page Six reported that authorities confirmed Tuesday night they had received “multiple calls” about an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media, as reported [1] by Page Six.
Deputies were sent to investigate after those calls came in. The response centered on Hilton’s Miami home, where officials later said he was alone inside.
According to authorities, officers spoke with Hilton’s family members who were already at the scene. After confirming the situation, they decided to “tactfully disengage” while continuing to “monitor the situation.”
The Sheriff’s Office later said Hilton had been safely recovered and transported to a local hospital, “where he is receiving medical attention.”
The agency also said its Crisis Response Unit and Licensed Mental Health Professionals were on scene. They were providing support and resources to Hilton’s family.
Hilton’s representatives, Golden Artists Entertainment figures Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, told Page Six they were aware of the situation involving their client. They said they “are aware of the concerning content circulating online.”
“At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him,” they added. They also said they would not speculate or comment further until they had confirmed information.
Rusciolelli and Kochan said they appreciated the public’s concern. They also asked that Hilton’s privacy be respected at this time.
Page Six said it reached out to representatives for Hilton for additional comment and details. No further comment was included in the report.
Hilton, whose birth name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., is 48. He is the father of three children, all welcomed via surrogacy.
The incident follows a serious medical period earlier this year. In March, Hilton was hospitalized for three weeks after taking flu medication on an empty stomach.
“My stupidity landed me in the hospital for 21 days. It was the worst and best thing that’s ever happened to me,” he said in a YouTube video shared that month.
In that same video, Hilton described the ordeal as a “crazy saga.” He said he had “had the flu for about a week” but had failed to “take any of my medication with food.”
Hilton said he “developed an ulcer and then a perforation and then sepsis” as a result. He recounted his hospital stay and said the experience changed the way he wanted to spend time with his family.
“I’m going to have dinner with my kids and my mom every night from now on,” he pledged.
In April, Hilton shared another health update and said he needed “emergency surgery” for a “massive” blood clot. The update came after the earlier hospitalization he had described publicly.
“I have a deep vein thrombosis,” Hilton said at the time, sharing that he would undergo a “thrombectomy” procedure. “I am so thankful to God that we caught this early because if that blood clot had gone to my lungs or my heart, it could have been real bad.”
After that medical scare, Hilton said he had found God. He spoke emotionally about the experience and described it as something that had changed his life.
“I’ve been crying, but happy tears. Happy tears. Because this is just, this is just so crazy. I’ve been reading the Bible, and so much of what is said here I had already been thinking of,” he said while holding up a Bible. “It’s just overwhelming in the best, most beautiful way.”
