Barbra Streisand Leads Hollywood Left’s Desperate Last Ditch Rush to Turn Congress Blue

A roster of left-wing Hollywood celebrities is making a frantic final push to turn Congress blue as the 2026 election cycle reaches its last days. According to The Hill, the effort spans social media posts, campaign messages, and mass emails aimed at Democratic voters, as reported [1] by Breitbart.

Barbra Streisand, Bradley Whitford, documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, and Bill Nye are among the prominent figures involved. The source derisively described Nye as an imaginary “science” guy while portraying the celebrity campaign as a last-minute scramble.

The celebrities have used their public profiles to urge voters to support radical left-wing candidates. Their appeals arrive with control of the House of Representatives hanging on a narrow margin that Democrats believe they can overcome.

Democrats need to flip only three seats to take control of the lower chamber. That slim target has given the celebrity appeals an especially urgent edge during the closing days of the campaign.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee joined the push with a mass email sent Tuesday. The message featured a plea attributed to Streisand and presented her public platform as both a privilege and an obligation to speak.

“As someone fortunate to have a platform larger than most, I believe it is both my right and my duty to speak up when I see injustice in the world,” Streisand purportedly told Democratic voters in the email.

The Oscar-winning actress then turned her attention toward the president and the Republican majority in the House. Her message framed Democratic control of the chamber as necessary to restrain the administration.

“We can’t have a president who doesn’t respect our constitution and relies on his GOP puppets in the House majority to carry out his every whim,” the email bearing Streisand’s name said.

The message closed with another blunt appeal for Democrats to capture the House. “We need a Democratic House Majority if we have any hope of putting a check on this president,” it concluded.

The DCCC also distributed a mass email connected to The West Wing star Bradley Whitford. The source later described that email as being attributed to Bradley Woodford, warning Democratic voters that the current political situation was no television drama.

The email said he was “reaching out because the political reality we face today is far from fiction.” That warning served as the opening for another urgent plea concerning President Donald Trump and control of Congress.

“I can’t fathom letting Trump hold office with unchecked power for another two years,” the left-wing actor said in the mass email. The appeal also sought political donations and votes from its Democratic recipients.

The message pressed supporters to help defeat Trump and congressional Republicans at the ballot box. “That’s why I’m doing everything I can to ensure Donald Trump and the GOP lose the House this year — and I hope you are too,” he added.

Bill Nye and Ken Burns have also appeared in mailings and messages circulated by Democratic Party organizations and candidates, according to The Hill. Their participation expands the celebrity effort beyond actors and singers into documentary filmmaking and children’s television programming.

The source described Nye as an actor who portrays the host of a children’s television science show. Burns was identified as a documentary filmmaker participating in the broader Democratic messaging operation.

Together, the celebrity posts and campaign communications focus on the same objective: electing enough Democratic candidates to reverse Republican control of the House. The effort combines personal appeals, warnings about Trump, requests for money, and direct calls for votes.

Streisand’s message emphasized what she called a duty to speak against injustice, while the email linked to The West Wing star portrayed the political circumstances as dangerously real. Both communications asked Democratic voters to treat the House campaign as an urgent check on presidential power.

With only three seats separating Democrats from control of the chamber, Hollywood’s left-wing contingent is using the final days of the 2026 campaign to amplify that effort. Streisand, Whitford, Burns, and Nye are all part of the celebrity push described by The Hill.
