A man was found dead Sunday at the edge of Disneyland Resort property in California, prompting a police investigation and forcing pedestrians to detour around a section of sidewalk that authorities blocked while they worked at the scene, as reported [1] by The New York Post.
Anaheim police and Anaheim Fire and Rescue were called to 800 West Katella Avenue at around 1.45 p.m. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene after responders reached the edge of the Disneyland property.
The investigation was centered directly below a large, arched blue Disneyland Resort entrance sign. Authorities restricted access to the immediate area beneath the gateway as they documented and processed the scene.

Police officers cordoned off the sidewalk with yellow crime scene tape. They also erected a black privacy partition beneath the entrance gateway to screen the body from passing vehicles and pedestrians.
The measures left that section of sidewalk unavailable while authorities conducted their investigation. Pedestrians approaching the blocked area were redirected around it as police maintained the taped perimeter.
Uniformed Anaheim police officers remained at the location to document evidence. Their work continued within the restricted sidewalk area near the prominent blue resort entrance sign.
A beer can was reportedly found near the deceased man. Investigators, however, have not established whether the can played any role in the death.
The cause of the man’s death remained unknown. Authorities had not released further information explaining the circumstances that led to the discovery at the edge of the resort property.
Footage from the scene showed personnel from the Orange County Coroner’s office arriving to handle the body. The personnel were shown wearing formal suits while working along Katella Avenue.
The footage also showed the personnel loading a covered mortuary gurney into a vehicle. The body remained covered as the gurney was moved away from the screened area beneath the entrance sign.
The vehicle used at the scene was an unmarked white minivan parked along Katella Avenue. Coroner’s office personnel placed the covered gurney inside while police continued controlling the surrounding area.
Pedestrians continued being directed away from the section of sidewalk enclosed by police tape. The detour remained in place while authorities processed evidence and completed their work near the gateway.
Police had not released the identity of the deceased man. They also had not provided additional details about the circumstances surrounding his death or the events before he was discovered.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the deceased was a man who was 65 years old. Police, however, had not publicly identified him in the information available from the investigation.
The police response remained concentrated beneath the arched Disneyland Resort sign at 800 West Katella Avenue. Yellow tape and the black partition separated the investigative area from nearby pedestrians and passing vehicles.
The presence of Anaheim police, Anaheim Fire and Rescue, and Orange County Coroner’s office personnel marked the response at the property’s edge. Paramedics handled the initial medical determination before coroner’s office personnel removed the covered body.
Authorities did not disclose a cause of death or further circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remained the basis for the sidewalk closure and pedestrian detour near the Disneyland Resort entrance.
