Trey Gowdy Let’s Loose On James Comey – I’ll Apologize To Him ‘When It Snows In Hell’

Former Rep. Trey Gowdy just went off on former FBI director James Comey during a new interview after the latter claimed that he was owed apologies.

Fox News reported that in a Friday interview, Gowdy was asked about Comey’s recent comments that apologies from people who “defamed” him “would be nice.” Gowdy, who was the former chair of the House Oversight Committee, refused to say sorry and instead offered Comey some advice.

“I never said Comey would or should go to jail,” he said. “I’m certainly not going to apologize to anyone who violated FBI and Department of Justice policy, who violated an employment agreement, who shared sensitive information about an ongoing investigation, who sent classified information to an unauthorized person and then had amnesia when the FBI came to his home to try to retrieve government property.”

“I will give him a piece of unsolicited advice,” Gowdy added. “You should aspire to more in life than simply skating by without having been indicted.”

Gowdy went on to describe Comey as a “two-time offender,” pointing out that the Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who was appointed by Barack Obama, “also dinged him for his handling of the Clinton email investigation.”

“If that is your goal in life to just not meet every essential element of a criminal offense and you think you should be congratulated and apologized to simply because you were not indicted, you better give back some of those ‘Higher Loyalty’ speaking fees,” Gowdy added, referring to Comey’s recent book title.

When asked once again if he would ever apologize to Comey, Gowdy responded, “What temperature is it in Hell right now? Is it snowing? When it snows in hell, you let me know.”

This comes after former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo, who served in the administration of George W. Bush, said that when Trump fired Comey, he removed an individual from the FBI who had acted in his own interests.

“I’m sad to say after I read the IG report Trump didn’t obstruct justice, Trump freed justice,” he said. “Trump freed the Justice Department of a man — a self-righteous crusader — who rejected the results of our constitutional system and democracy that was, President Trump won the 2016 election.”
