Trump And Ivanka Met With Massive Protest While Touring Austin Apple Plant

When President Donald Trump and his daughter, White House Senior Advisor Ivanka Trump, arrived at Apple’s Mac Pro manufacturing plant in Austin, Texas, they were met with a massive protest by a crowd that wanted to make it clear just how unwelcome they were there.

Newsweek reported that before flying into Austin, Trump praised the “fantastic facility” in Austin subject to no tariffs, while Ivanka tweeted that Apple was “one of the early signers” of the administration’s ‘Pledge to America’s Workers’ initiative. Unfortunately for them, a protest against them was organized by Indivisible Austin, which states its mission is “to celebrate, protect, and expand democracy and human rights to drive justice, equity, and inclusion.”

“Our main focus is impeachment. Ambassador [Gordon] Sondland testified just this morning that there was a quid pro quo,” Indivisible Austin said in a press release. “Trump is trying to distract us with a shiny APPLE when he should be imPEACHed.”

Protesters outside the facility chanted “Lock him up!” and held signs that said things like “worst president ever,” and “impeach.”

Chaos soon ensued when some Trump supporters showed up and staged their own counter-protest. The leader of an anti-impeachment group that pushes #TrumpVictory started chants like, “four more years,” and “U.S.A.” and participants held signs with “women for Trump” and the Trump campaign reelection slogan “Keep America Great.”

Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell joined the pro-Trump group and shouted through a megaphone, “I want to say to my fellow Republicans that are here, you’re standing in the midst of the hottest economy in the world, led by our president, Donald J. Trump.”

Meanwhile, Trump and Ivanka were inside touring the plant. Afterwards, President Trump praised Apple and asked the technology company’s CEO Tim Cook to comment on the American economy.

“I think we have the strongest economy in the world,” Cook said, with President Trump quickly repeating this statement.

At the conclusion of the tour, President Trump also made a point of calling for his impeachment hearings to end.
