Donald Trump Jr. has spoken out to shut down comedian Kathy Griffin after she belittled the military service of Dr. Mark Esper, the Secretary of Defense.

Griffin, who once posed with the severed head of President Donald Trump in a disturbing photoshoot, took to Twitter on Friday to make false claims about Esper’s service in the U.S. Army. She started things off by asking her followers, “Who is the current secretary of defense?”

It seems that Griffin has never heard of Google…

When a random fan responded, Griffin replied, “Ok, it’s time to admit how ignorant we are. His name is Mark Esper. Trump chose him because he used to work at Boeing. He was a captain in the army during a non-war period.”

It should be noted that Griffin was telling the truth at the beginning of her tweet when she admitted to being “ignorant,” but it all went downhill into lies from there.

Contrary to what Griffin said, Esper is indeed a combat veteran who fought in the 1990-1991 Gulf War with the 101st Airborne Division. There is also no evidence that he ever worked at Boeing, which torpedoes Griffin’s claim that this would be the reason behind Trump hiring him.

Trump Jr. fired back at Griffin yesterday by rushing to Esper’s defense in a blistering statement to Daily Wire:

“The left can’t even be creative with their lies anymore. Secretary Esper is a combat veteran who was awarded both the Bronze Star and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. He served as Secretary of the Army. He’s a West Point & Harvard graduate with a PhD from George Washington University. And he never worked for Boeing. That tweet is quite similar to Griffin’s career — a bad joke and a failure.”

BOOM!

A former White House official also defended Esper by telling Daily Wire, “Mark Esper is a decorated combat veteran and has earned the respect from every American for his service. The same can’t be said for Kathy Griffin, whose claim to fame is being a pathetic comic trying to revive her failed, worthless career.”

Griffin has desperately been trying to get her career back on track ever since she was hit with backlash and investigated by the Secret Service for posing with the president’s severed head back in 2017. Since then, she’s shown that she would do just about anything to get back in the spotlight, but questioning the military service of a combat veteran is a new low– even for her.

Just as she did when she posed with the president’s severed head, Griffin undoubtedly thought she was hurting Trump when she posted this tweet. In both cases, however, Griffin only ended up exposing herself as the ignorant radical leftist that she is.
