Romney BOOED by Massive MAGA Crowd: ‘Traitor!’

Senator Mitt Romney was booed by thousands of Republicans in his home state, when he attempted to speak at the GOP convention this weekend. The backlash against the anti-Trump senator came after he was almost censured by the Utah GOP over his vote to impeach the former president.

Romney said to the people booing him, “Aren’t you embarrassed? I’m a man who says what he means, and you know I was not a fan of our last president’s character issues.”

People then began shouting, “Traitor!”

The senator continued, “You can boo all you like. I’ve been a Republican all of my life. My dad was the governor of Michigan and I was the Republican nominee for president in 2012. So yeah, I understand that I have a few folks that don’t like me terribly much and I’m sorry about that. But I express my mind as I believe is right and I follow my conscience as I believe is right.”

Romney then tried to change the subject to Biden, asking the crowd, “So, what do you think about President Biden’s first 100 days?”

He added, “We need to come together in strength and unity.”

The Utah senator is currently unpopular with voters in his own party. The motion to censure him failed narrowly, with a 798 to 711 vote by delegates at the state GOP convention.
