War, Inflation, National Malaise: Biden Tanking In Polls

Even in New York state.

Joe Biden is in danger of dragging many Democrats down to defeat in November. These polling numbers could spell doom for Biden if they don’t change. He’s hoping his Ukraine performance turns it around. We’ll see.

From Fox News: “President Biden’s foreign affairs approval rating among American adults has plummeted to a new low, a recent Gallup poll shows.

As Biden’s second year in office marches forward, a Gallup poll out this week puts him far below water in the area of foreign policy, with only 40% of Americans approving of his job. The president’s marks on foreign affairs are a point below his 41% overall approval rating, according to the new poll. Gallup also found that 62% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy, and only 36% of people approve of his handling of Russia. The poll was conducted from Feb. 1-17, before the most recent Russian escalations in Ukraine.”

In related news, a Sienna college poll saw Biden underwater in New York state, a liberal bastion. “President Joe Biden’s ratings fell to their lowest levels since taking office. His favorability rating is 48-48%, down from 52-42% last month, and 65-29% in February 2021. His job performance rating is negative 36-63%, down from 39-60 percent last month, and 55-37% in February 2021,” the pollsters noted.

“In December, voters said inflation was having a serious negative effect on both the economy and their personal finances. Today, those inflation worries have grown. More than 9 in 10 voters say inflation is having at least a somewhat serious negative effect on the economy, 63% very serious, up from 49% very serious in December,” Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg said. “In December, 66% said inflation was having at least a somewhat serious negative effect on their personal finances, 29% very serious. Now, that’s up to 78% saying inflation is having a negative effect on their finances, 39% very serious. Like crime, inflation is very much on voters’ minds heading into the midterms.”

On the Right, CPAC President Matt Schlapp welcomes an upcoming straw poll at the event and has a perspective on the process. “My take is that Trump is like an incumbent. He is beloved by people, but people also respect great governors, leading that way is Ron DeSantis,” Schlapp said. “They love the senators that always stand up and do the right thing, like Ted Cruz, he’ll be at CPAC again, and I think Josh Hawley is going to be at CPAC…The presidential campaign is just far enough away where we don’t know exactly what is going to happen, and it makes for interesting speculation.”
