Disney Employees Say Company’s Far-Left Activism Makes It ‘Increasingly Uncomfortable’ To Work There

Maybe they should stop pandering to the "woke" crowd.

According to reports, some Disney employees aren’t exactly thrilled with the work environment the company is fostering by way of their far-left activism, noting that Disney has become “increasingly uncomfortable” to work at for those who aren’t steadfastly progressive in every sense.

While Disney’s California theme park Disneyland touts the tagline “The Happiest Place On Earth,” the company itself appears to not exactly be the happiest place to work at.

A group of anonymous employees are urging the House of Mouse to divert to being apolitical in practice, as those working for Disney who hold “political and religious views” that “are not explicitly progressive” are reportedly enduring a hostile work environment with their employer publicly attacking their firmly held beliefs, as noted in the open letter.

“The Walt Disney Company has come to be an increasingly uncomfortable place to work for those of us whose political and religious views are not explicitly progressive. We watch quietly as our beliefs come under attack from our own employer, and we frequently see those who share our opinions condemned as villains by our own leadership.”

The letter goes on to mention how Disney has had an “evolving response” to the Florida legislation often maligned as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, highlighting that the company’s embracing of denouncing said legislation showcases Disney’s lack of inclusivity.

That “evolving response” is an allusion to statements made by company CEO Bob Chapek, who at first didn’t want to take a public position on the Florida legislation, saying, “corporate statements do very little to change outcomes or minds.”

However, Chapek walked that position back after the alphabet mafia staged a company walkout later in March.

“The company’s evolving response to the so-called ‘Don’t Say Gay’ legislation in Florida has left many of us wondering what place we have in a company actively promoting a political agenda so far removed from our own. TWDC leadership frequently communicates its commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where cast members feel comfortable sharing their perspectives and being their authentic selves at work. That is not our workplace experience.”

It was explained how far-left and progressive political activism among employees is encouraged, going so far as to allow employed leftists to “promote their agenda and organize on company time using company resources.”

For Disney-employed conservatives, not so much.

And among the concerns and grievances listed by these employees, this anonymous group of conservatives lamented that Disney is going to wind up alienating their more conservative-leaning customers with these far-left, public stances.

“Furthermore, as this politicization makes its way into our content and public messaging, our more conservative customers will feel similarly unwanted. You can only preach at or vilify your audience for so long before they decide to spend their money elsewhere.”

This group of employees aren’t calling for Disney to become a right-wing haven or echo chamber, but rather simply be a company that doesn’t openly promote any kind of “political activism.”

“Disney shouldn’t be a vehicle for one demographic’s political activism. It’s so much bigger and more important than that. More than ever, the world needs things that we can unite around. That’s the most valuable role The Walt Disney Company could play in the world at this time. It’s a role we’ve played for nearly a century, and it would be a shame to throw all of that away in the face of left-wing political pressure. Please don’t let Disney become just another thing we divide over.”
