BREAKING: Elon Musk Purchases Twitter

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, has bought Twitter, according to the Daily Mail. He paid $44 billion for it, after weeks of negotiations.

Musk has agreed to pay shareholders $54.20 in cash for each share.

Parag Agrawal, the CEO of Twitter said he is “proud of our teams and inspired by the work that has never been more important.”

Just before the sale was announced, Musk said he hopes his “worst critics” remain on the site because “that’s what free speech is means.” He has said that he wanted to purchase Twitter, because it acts as the new public square; and when people are banned, they are being denied their First Amendment right to Free Speech.

As-of right now, the timeline of the deal is unknown.

The staff at Twitter is known to be left wing. One only has to glance at the news stories featured in Twitter’s Trending section to see the bias. It is unclear if there will be a mass exodus of staff members once the deal goes through.
