Five individuals arrested in Minneapolis during a federal immigration enforcement operation this week were linked to serious criminal histories, according to details discussed during an exchange between Fox News host Martha MacCallum and former Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino.
MacCallum reviewed images and information tied to the arrests, outlining the nature of the convictions and charges associated with those taken into custody.
“All right, these, let’s put this up real quick. These are five images of some of the individuals that were arrested as part of this Minneapolis operation Wednesday. These individuals were apprehended according to the reporting here,” MacCallum said.

She then described the criminal backgrounds tied to each individual shown.
“So you see the names across the bottom, and I’ll just tell you that from left to right, you have a child sex assault conviction, registered sex offender, attempted sex assault conviction, attempted criminal sex conduct conviction and possession of opium conviction,” MacCallum said.
MacCallum noted that in one case, a conviction was not listed but a charge was pending.
“So these are all individuals, with perhaps the exception of the second person here there, who does it does not say there’s been a conviction. There’s a charge in that case, these individuals were all rounded up in Minneapolis as part of the operation that we’ve been watching,” she said.

Bovino responded by emphasizing that the arrests were not isolated incidents, arguing that federal agents encounter similar offenders on a routine basis.
“Yes, Martha. And what’s even more noteworthy is, in addition to those five, this happens every day,” Bovino said.
He said individuals with serious criminal records are frequently encountered by ICE and Border Patrol officers during enforcement operations.
“Those type of individuals are walking the streets every day in broad daylight, those ICE agents, Border Patrol agents are up against that every single day,” Bovino said.

Bovino criticized members of the community who oppose immigration enforcement actions, suggesting that opposition is driven by political rhetoric rather than public safety concerns.
“And as they arrest those individuals, we have members of the community, some of those weaker minded constituents that fall victim to Walz and Frey’s rhetoric actually coming against us as we arrest those individuals,” he said.
Bovino expressed disbelief at resistance to the arrests given the criminal histories involved.
“That’s that’s amazing that’s amazing to me. Do they want registered sex child rapists walking the streets?” he said.
