Commentator Britt Hughes described a reported assault at Lucille Umbarger Middle School in Burlington, Washington, involving a 13-year-old girl who was allegedly beaten after being asked whether she supported Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“Fair warning, this one’s a little graphic. You ready?” Hughes said while introducing the incident.

“This video was reportedly taken at Lucille Umbarger Middle School in Burlington, Washington, showing a 13 year old girl being beaten in the head after two other girls asked her if she supported ICE and she refused to answer the question,” Hughes said.

According to Hughes, the footage was circulated among students.

“Then the video of it was put on social media and passed around the school,” she said.

Hughes stated that the victim said the confrontation stemmed from a social media post made by her boyfriend.

“The victim said it started because her boyfriend posted on social media that he might want to become an ICE officer one day,” Hughes said.

Hughes compared the coverage of the incident to other ICE-related stories.

“And it’s fascinating to me that we will get 1,000,001 national stories about a woman getting yanked out of her car for obstructing an ICE operation, and we will get crickets about this,” she said.

Hughes said students involved in the incident should be held accountable.

“And can I just point out that these kids are responsible for their own actions, and they should be treated like it, but this is a middle school,” she said.

She added that middle school students do not typically engage in violence over political issues without outside influence.

“Middle school kids don’t beat each other over government policies unless their parents and their teachers have convinced them that that’s the right response,” Hughes said.

Hughes argued that rhetoric surrounding political issues has influenced young people.

“This is what happens when you tell kids to go march in the street and take up arms because they’re fighting Nazis, that the Gestapo is coming after them, that anyone who disagrees with you is a fascist,” she said.

“They’re kids. They believe you, and we’ve watched them violently assault multiple people over this because the left has convinced them that that’s okay and that they should,” Hughes said.

She concluded by criticizing adults and media coverage related to such incidents.

“This is sick. These kids are sick. The adults that have convinced them to do this are unhinged, and the media that lies about it, twists the narrative and ignores stuff like this, are liars, and you should all be ashamed of yourselves, assuming you have any shame left at all,” Hughes said.
