A December 2025 Turning Point USA event in Maryland is drawing scrutiny after a report was filed with Child Protective Services, prompting discussion from Justice Department officials and conservative commentators.

In a recorded statement, a woman identified as Nancy outlined concerns about the event.

“In December of 2025, turning point, USA hosted an event marketed to high school students with food and beverages advertised as an incentive for attendance, while community building opportunities for students are important. This event raises serious concerns related to student safety, parental rights and governance oversight. Event materials indicated that adults, including parents and legal guardians, were not permitted to attend and that supervision would be provided by unnamed volunteers based on the circumstances surrounding this event, a report was made to Child Protective Services,” Nancy said.

The situation was discussed on air by Marc Lotter, Sharla McBride and Jack Posobiec, who pushed back on the criticism and the CPS referral.

“There you have it. Liberals so triggered in Maryland over turning point USA, setting up a chapter at a school they called Child Protective Services, claiming it posed vulnerable students at risk, excluding parents and raising doubts and concerns about influence and safety,” Lotter said.

McBride noted that the Department of Justice is now involved.

“Yeah. So the DOJ Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, Harmeet Dhillon, is on the case now posting on X in response quote, ‘I’m looking into this’, Jack, and we are really talking about such an important topic. And Harmeet Dhillon now stepping in as the DOJ. It’s kind of a game-changer. What kind of investigation do you expect here?” McBride asked.

Posobiec contrasted the current DOJ review with actions he said took place under the previous administration.

“Look, we live in a situation where the previous administration in this country that we had a Department of Justice that was cracking down on Christians, that was cracking down on pro lifers, that was sending FBI agents into Catholics, Catholics, which are, of course, celebrating Ash Wednesday today, Catholic many other Christians as well, celebrating Ash Wednesday today. And so that was the DOJ that we had under the Biden administration,” Posobiec said.

He praised Dhillon’s record on civil rights.

“We have to remember that Harmeet Dillon has been a champion for civil rights. She’s someone that we have worked with for years. She’s an absolute rock star when it comes to this and she has been cracking down to make sure that the civil rights and civil liberties of a turning point USA student are the exact same as we would be protected for any other student organization,” he said.

Posobiec defended TPUSA’s mission and described its recent growth.

“You have a right in this country to be able to set up, again, These are Club America’s the purpose of a club America is to talk about how much you love the country, standing up for faith, for family, for freedom, just like what we did at our halftime show last week. The President just tweeted about this last night, talking about the ratings. So it’s really something that is just Americana, a classic thing that you would want people to join. Of course, it’s something that we’ve had an absolute explosion of in the wake of Charlie’s unfortunate murder just a couple of months ago, five months ago,” Posobiec said.

He also criticized the CPS report.

“And so it’s unfortunate, really, that harm me Dhillon at the Department of Justice would have to weigh in on here, because you have liberals like this busy buddy who, by the way, as far as we know, don’t have, doesn’t have any connection to the school, is not related to any of the students, doesn’t have anyone who’s associated with this, but she’s going so far as to file criminal reports, because that’s how much she wants to shove her ideology down. We’re not forcing our ideology. It’s the schools and people like this that have been forcing their ideology on children,” Posobiec said.

Lotter pointed to what he described as broader momentum for the organization.

“Yeah, Jack, you mentioned it too with the success of the halftime show, the All American halftime show, new chapters getting approved all across the country. I mean, turning point is really exploding on the scene right now because people want conservative leadership and thought,” Lotter said.

Posobiec said the halftime show concept was inspired by Charlie Kirk and offered as an alternative to what he described as mainstream programming.

“Well, look, you know, when I came up with this idea for the show, it was really inspired by Charlie that that was something that Charlie always talked about the halftime show. He said, Why don’t we just have a show that celebrates America, that plays some rock music, that plays some country music, the type of music that, by the way, is number one in this country when you look in terms of searches, when you look in terms of radio plays, when you look in terms of sales of tickets, and yet has been constantly de platformed by the NFL, by Jay Z and rock nation, who run the halftime show with, of course, Beyonce and her buddies at the Obama family,” Posobiec said.

“So we came up and said, Why don’t we just provide an alternative and again, the same as club America’s. We are not forcing anyone to watch. We are not forcing our ideology. They are the ones who force their ideology on people using social programming led things like the Super Bowl Halftime Show and things like these woke teachers unions that are going around the country and pushing this far left agenda. If there was ever any silver lining to covid, we finally, I think, as a country, were able to wake up, look over our shoulder in those, those sort of zoom classrooms that were going look over the shoulder of the kids and actually realize what was going on in these schools.”
